"If one of the parties was a less than happy participant then the problem was not the swinging, it was a total lack of communication. Swinging was not the cause, just simply the excuse."

This thing just keeps getting better. So if a mate engages in swinging without being committed to it, and the other mate just keeps getting his/her jollies doing it, it is just bad communication. I suspect that one partner might just wise up that the marriage is in name only, or was forced into swapping by the other partner, and finally just found the self-respect that he or she had.

I think the real problem in marriages like this is that neither partner had a real commitment to the marriage. Unfortunately, in this day and age when even the meaning of "is" comes under fire, no one takes solemn vows very seriously. When you vow to God and your mate, in front of family, friends, and the congregation, to remain true, then break those vows, how can that lead to anything worthwhile?
