Wrong. This was an entirely appropriate use of police authority. Follow the rules & for goodness sakes don't give airplane crews a hard time. He did this going into Salt Lake, too. Inexcusable.

eh maybe? but all he did was stare at the flt. attendant. There werent any reports of him giving her a hard time. 20 years in prison for going to the bathroom...with 3 air marshalls on board at that? I can see detaining the man or maybe even slapping him with a fine but not 20 years.

Authorities said a flight attendant instructed Bizarro to return to his seat immediately after he left the bathroom. She said Bizarro, who is 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, ignored her orders and stared at her for about a minute before returning to his seat, according to the FBI. The incident was seen by two of three undercover air marshals on board, the FBI said. One of the agents said he saw Bizarro give what appeared to be a "thumbs up" to another passenger as he returned to his seat, prompting the marshals to take control of the cabin. The guys a jerk, and I'm sure he'll get what he deserves, which will be a lot less that 20 years. The hands on the heads routine seems way over the top.

Wrong. This was an entirely appropriate use of police authority. There seems to be a problem with the word editing program you used to write that. The corrected sentence is:
"Wrong. This was an entirely appropriate use of police state authority."

And just sit there and piss your pants like a good little slave? Even in prison they can't deny you bathroom breaks. I would be outraged and would find the nearest shyster to file a lawsuit against the airlines and the FAA.

I very much support the Bush Administration's war against terror and have attended many of the peaceful FREEP gatherings in support of our troops. This was an entirely appropriate use of police authority. Follow the rules & for goodness sakes don't give airplane crews a hard time. He did this going into Salt Lake, too. Inexcusable.
I have difficulty determining where you are coming from. These rules or laws are clearly unconstitutional. This is more like the Nazi gastapo in germany during WWII.

Oh, bullsh*t!!!
THis just shows how sheeplike Americans have become;may you p*ss your pants in public when the Gestapo comes down on you.
It is somewhere between inexpressably sad and ludicrous what the current citizens of this once-free nation accept, demand, and laud in the name of SECURITY.
"Those that give up freedom for security deserve neither"(Apologies to the original author for inexactness of quote.)

Ditto! L.A. to Salt Lake City can't be a very long flight. If he would have used bathroom a gate in L.A., and/or used airline bathroom as soon as the seatbelt light went off after leveling off, like just about everybody else does, he could have held on and waited until he landed in Salt Lake. of course, if it was an emergency, like diahrea, that's a differnet story, and he can tell it to the judge.

He's fifty nine years old. Have you ever heard of prostate trouble.Believe me if you have an enlarged prostate and you have to go you have to go right now. Twenty years for a possible medical problem is just over the top. I couldn't hold my hands over my head for two minutes let alone thirty. What are these numb skulls thinking?

He did this going into Salt Lake, too.Gee ... should we have this 30 minute rule expanded to ALL destinations? ... how about for the whole flght? better yet, let's all have a new rule: NO GOING TO THE RESTROOM ON ANY DOMESTIC OR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT AT ANY TIME UNLESS ESCORTED BY AN AIR MARSHALL. There. Feel safer?

Should anyone have the least doubt that the American people are gradually becoming adjusted to living in a police state, just read the above post a few times.
