Morris Telling Off Van Sustern Live!
Fox News | February 7, 2002 | Me

Posted on 02/07/2002 6:41:08 PM PST by Land_of_Lincoln_John

Check it out! Dick Morris is telling Greta Van Sustern that "She has no idea what she is talking about."

On terrorism, Clinton looked the other way, according to Morris. When Van Sustern objected, Morris snapped: "I was there, you weren't."

Morris to Van Sustern: "You are still a CNN person."

What was Fox thinking when they hired Greta???
I hope someone can give us a satisfactory explaination.

So the liberals can entertain us when confronted with the truth like this? LOL!

I hate to admit it is public, but I like to hear what Dick Morris has to say about things. He is manipulative, I find his view of the world of politics discusting (but possible more real than I want to beleive). Most of all he provides insights into how Democrats and Liberals think, which is how they vote.

I feel like I need to shower and wash my mouth out.

So, when do you figure we're gonna see a re-match? Since they had the lovely and gracious Greta on Fox & Friends this morning this keeps the interest up, which means: RATINGS!

I wouldn't be surprised to see FoxNews advertise it just that way: REMATCH! (It'll mean triple his usual fee for Dickie, and BIG ratings for Greata.) Just like Tyson-Lewis - you just KNOW that fight is gonna take place.

I am proud to say that I have never watched Greta's show on Fox, but I did enjoy reading your transcript. I always enjoy it when two Democrats go at each other on national television. I did watch Greta on O'Reilly and was very disappointed in O'Reilly. He had the opportunity to give what should become the litmus test for Clinton lovers. For the record, I want someone to ask Greta the same question O'Reilly gave to Rather, "Do you think Clinton is an honest man?".

In the immortal words of Navin R. Johnson (Steve Martin in "The Jerk")

"It's a profit deal!"

Yes. You are correct. Capturing market share is dependant on segmenting the market and providing the products or services or promotional vehicle those markets desire.

An interesting point is that Gretta's old CNN product was unchallenged DNC talking points, liberal nonsense that made people feel good about themselves. A defining characteristic of this old demographic Fox hopes to lure over is "groupthink" made up of groupthinkers who perceive opinions other than those expressly endorsed by the group as threatning. If you add the spector of truth to opposing view points, you get insurmountable conflict that generates anxiety. Off goes Fox.

So, you really have to think about what Fox has done here. Not only are they risking losing the conservative demographic with Gretta but astonishingly they are risking alienation of the new demographic they are attempting to havest by of all things allowing a fair and honest debate of the facts.

What Dick Morris did and said was right for truth and justice but wrong for Foxnews marketing business in my opinion. It will be interesting to see if Fox reformats Gretta's show so that she is "less challenged" or if they allow her crumby blather to get the full pummeling it deserves ala Dick Morris.

The paradox is how do you cultivate a demographic that is fundamentally opposed to "Fair and Balanced" debate, the stalwart of your network.

An interesting challenge for sure, I hope Fox realizes that it can't have more of the pie without sacrificing it's integrity.

That old bitchy ineffeminate liberal loud mouth nature of hers bled right on through all that new make over!!

Of a truth a pig returns to its wallowing in the mire and you cannnot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, neither can a pole cat rid herself of its odor.

Greta kept saying, "You didn't have a security clearance when you were with Clinton." And, "I'm quoting facts from the New York Times." She was thoroughly obnoxious.

Morris was a barracuda. I caught this as a re-run in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep. I turned it to another channel when Morris was through ripping her apart. She said, "We'll have you back for a re-match" and Morris looked at her with a sneer that seemed to say, "not on your sweet bippy, baby."

I didn't watch Greta because I hate her; I turned to Alan Keyes who had a very interesting show on Israel and Palestine last night. But I did catch the Morris Van Sustern spitting match in rerun. Keyes has a better show, even though Morris provided some high drama.

You sure she only got her eyes done?

Sure makes me nervous to think that we may not even recognize Bin Laden and Mullah Omar when we "git 'em".

Van Susteren desperately needs a conservative co-host to balance her extreme left wing perspective. Use the Hannity and Colmes show as a model. It works.

The truth is never embellished by a lie, it stands alone!

I cannot listen to Allan Colmes nor any other liberal loud mouth when they base their arguments on totally inaccurate information and even when faced with insurmountable evidence against them they continue by attempting to talk over their opposition.

They are dispicably unpleasant people, male and female alike!

I think your analysis is good. But given the fact that Fox has chosen a lemon they could make lemonade. Someone in an earlier post mentioned they would like to see Mark Levin and Ann Coulter come on the show and slap Greta around.

Fox could take a risk for the sake of entertainment and ratings and present a reverse of the O'Reilly Factor. The entertainment value of the O'Reilly Factor is based on O'Reilly's ability to browbeat guests who have wrongheaded liberal views.

Greta's show could be based on having guests come on who browbeat the host who has wrongheaded liberal views. After all Greta is just "talent" or meat and she gets paid the same whether she is humiliated or not. As a liberal she probably has experienced the S/M world and may get off on pain and punishment.

Fox controls production and they can schedule as guests whoever they choose.

We all know that Greta is an utter fool but I say a show where Greta plays the fool is pure entertainment for the base of viewership that Fox has cultivated and considering what gets ratings on the boob tube could have ratings potential.

ReGretta was on Fox and Friends this a.m.. The question came up about if there was such a thing as liberal Media Bias. Her response paraphrased- "it depends on what the definition of media is". Old Brian wanted to keep the discussion going but they hurriedly got away from that topic. Probably because of the previous evening.

"Frankly, I wish they'd put Rita Cosby in that time slot. She is a great interviewer and isn't afraid to ask hard ball questions. It was priceless watching her go after Jesse Jackson, in such a lady-like but ruthless fashion."

Rita rules.
