Your right! He did have them cowed and I admit I loved it. Perhaps if he had some higher powered adversary he would get more response or maybe his argument was too strong alowing no response. Before he sprang his trap the comments and thoughts of the panel were pretty low key and unfocused. He brought them to focus quickly. Maybe its just me, but I didn't see the connection beforehand and was startled when he brought it out.

The way he sprung the abortion issue on his guests made me stand up and squirm around in sheer shock and DELIGHT!!!

Way to go, Alan! Unbelievable! Excellent show! This is my new favorite talk show.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I predict this "ordinary people" segment will be the first to go.

There's a reason other successful cable shows don't invite schlubs like me to appear on stage with the host.

It just doesn't work.

This segment has the most potential of any part of the show. Ordinary people are much less likely to fall into the standard debate posture over whatever topic is at issue which results in a more revealing dialogue. Keyes has the opportunity to ask questions and send the conversation in a direction which can challenge our thinking. I think its great.

Let's face it. No talk show host, except for the hosts of religious programs, talk like this. This is unprecedented.

And badly needed! It's likely that no other host has the courage to say what he is saying. This was an excellent (and very important) episode.

This format is a break from the same old hackneyed parade of punditry. It amused me at first, and has grown on me--it is the best part of the show. I enjoy the opportunity to watch Keyes change the minds of ordinary sheeple, or at least plant the seeds of doubt in their minds.

These people are a refreshing change from the Michael Kinsleys, Carvilles, McCauliffes, Estrichs, and all the rest of the disgusting Democrat talking heads.

I wish him success.

Bump for the replay on now. Came in during the 'evil in light of 9/11?' segment. Like someone said, it was a homerun.

After falling asleep before the live show, it's interesting reading the comments while watching the replay.

FYI It's replayed again at 5 AM Eastern.

Why won't Congress send Bush an anti-partial birth abortion bill? Because of the Senate? fine....the House should pass such a bill and then bring on the debate re: PBA - and let Dr. Keyes host a program discussing this atrocity (something they mentioned last night but did not get into in detail).

Also, having at least one woman on there who has had an abortion and who regrets it now would help get the message across. I know, I know - the points Dr. Keyes and Dr. Dobson made were excellent. But, we are trying to win hearts and minds here - and allowing a woman who made this "choice" to discuss it and the ramifications from it - and the deception of the abortion mills - esp. PLANNED nonPARENTHOOD - is a winning issue because how can the pro-aborts argue with such a woman??????

I find that quite offensive, in the same manner I would find it offensive if he came out and said "it's as if Osama aborted 3000 children from his womb in one day".

A mockery of all who could be alive today, but are not.

Perhaps I'm not understanding you. Are you taking offense because the WTC victims were somehow "worth more" than mere aborted fetuses? That's, at least, what seems to offend you.

With respect to the other freepers, Keyes point was this: the "innocent" died at the hands of someone(s) who put other values above that of human life. In both cases, Osama or a aborting "mother", that is true.

There's no mockery there at all. It's simple truth. In one case you have a person rationalizing to kill "innocent" life be it due to foreign policy, depravity and immorality, because his "god" said so, etc. In the other case you have a person rationalizing to kill innocent life due to social inconvenience, economic pressures, fear of the burden of motherhood, etc.

He said it didn't matter the justification for this taking of innocent life, even claiming Allah told you to do it. One male panelist suggested Osama's right came from Allah as if somehow claiming "my diety made me do it" meant no person could deprive you of a right to take an innocent life when you claim such authority. Obviously he was trying to draw a parallel with the pro-abortion line that "choice is between a woman and her god."

Regarding abortion, economic convenience as justification was suggested by one of the other 'common folk'. The pro-abort woman in the discussion literally suggested in some cases because the mother can't afford a nice home to raise it in, the child is better off [not having been born]. It was painful to see the look on her face when she knew how even she couldn't finish her sentence. She went quiet, I presume, out of shame.

I suggest reading the transcript. The program was really quite good.

I caught about 2/3rd of the second repeat. I was glad I did. It was excellent. The sweater controversy made me laugh. The "common folk" segment was much better than show #1. I didn't care too much for the Dobson segment but it passed fairly quickly.

I liked how Keyes wasn't afraid to include critical email about his concerns over the use of military tribunals, his job as host or even "the sweater".

Hell, he said tonight that he won't let Dershowitz on his show!

Another high point of a great evening!

Maybe we should send emails to MSNBC saying how great the show was.
Do you think that would help to keep Alan on?

Good point. I like it because he whomps liberals upside the head. Like the liberals at work I have to have coffee with every day.

Not only that, but the "average Joe" isn't practiced in filibustering, changing topics, and sticking to talking points, so the stupid arguments just hang out there waiting to be blown up by Alan.

Another thing. About ten years ago our parish pro-life group organized a public debate regarding abortion with Peter Kreeft. My wife spent days trying to find anyone of any kind of fame to debate. Finally we found an obscure Marxist associate professor (at BC!) to volunteer.

These jerks are afraid to debate. Like rats, they're afraid of the light. If they won't go on, then Alan can dismember Joe "pro-abortion" Fool.

Amen brother! Will do. (The link is at #87).

I saw my son in the first trimester. I can't believe people can disconnect that with the kid playing with his GI Joe.

It's down to about a mere 1000 children a day now.

For the first time, we agree. Keyes has to let the guests talk. His questions tend to be statements and people don't respond to statements well. He has to draw out people's opinions and let them ride them. Pull their passion out.

He has to be himself or he will loose the ones that want him to be President.

Praise the Lord! We will NEVER have to worry about THAT guy becoming President of the United States.

Hey Alan Dershowitz,

Are you still hurting after that spanking Alan gave you in your debate with him last year?
