Well-put; brings tears to my eyes. Saw my Josiah at about 8 weeks, as I recall... just a little blur, but here's this HEART beating like a snare drum. And that child is THE SAME FELLOW that has my heart now (as do my others), fighting battles as a Jedi knight, chasing Black Riders, rubbing Daddy's kisses into his cheek to keep them.
Dang. Going to be wiping my eyes at work again here pretty soon. I'm with you: I do not see how people rationally make that disconnect.
But I've just put my finger on it, haven't I? It's not "rational." It's about immorality without consequences, or sheer irresponsibility.
