Great show. One hour is not enough!
Keyes fans out there could smell the linkage coming regarding abortion.
IMHO he could have gone a little farther in that linkage by saying we have a whole generation of young people now who are immune to the sanctity of life, and take no regard in killing their fellow classmates, teachers, etc. It does link to the school shootings as well.
Then he could go a little farther and link it to the NEA and public school curriculum.......
Oh, well I guess he can't hit the nation too hard so soon.

His views have been extremely public, and he's never been shy about stating them without mincing words. So...why did MSNBC offer him a platform?

Dr. Keyes was extremely critical of candidate Bush during the presidential campaign and they are expecting that he will continue to be critical of the President.

The liberals love it when any Republican disagrees with the President. Why else would McCain be on every talk show and Jeffords get so much publicity when he switched?

I hope I'm wrong and Dr. Keyes doesn't play into their hands. I admire Dr. Keyes and totally agree with his conservative message. I hope he doesn't strengthen the Democrats by weakening our President.

I missed the show but saw it in a re-run later that night - it was absolutely riveting! Dr. Keyes "prepared" the audience relating to the 9/11 tragedy and than struck his message - we kill 4,000 babies a DAY!!! here at home!

This message is normally a tabu (which means the mind is so pre-programmed it would not accept even the notion before rebelling against even considering it) - but Keyes had set the mood where the message was looked at from the loss of innocents viewpoint. If they close the show tomorrow Dr Keyes already did more than thousands did in years.

I saw my son in the first trimester. I can't believe people can disconnect that with the kid playing with his GI Joe.

Well-put; brings tears to my eyes. Saw my Josiah at about 8 weeks, as I recall... just a little blur, but here's this HEART beating like a snare drum. And that child is THE SAME FELLOW that has my heart now (as do my others), fighting battles as a Jedi knight, chasing Black Riders, rubbing Daddy's kisses into his cheek to keep them.

Dang. Going to be wiping my eyes at work again here pretty soon. I'm with you: I do not see how people rationally make that disconnect.

But I've just put my finger on it, haven't I? It's not "rational." It's about immorality without consequences, or sheer irresponsibility.

Well said. I was thinking the same thing last night. We're reading Fellowship of the Ring in the evenings now, although usually only my 9 year old is awake and riveted by the time I reach the end of the chapter. After watching Keyes last night, I had to go look in on my 3 boys and give them an extra blessing.

Thanks for the good words. Especially since we've been on opposite sides of the debate on some of the recent religious threads.

You may think it was inspired, but you don't beat up guests on television, especially ordinary folks. I don't think he beat them up at all; he just dominated them. Toward the end of the segment, he asked a couple of questions, and nobody wanted to answer because they were cowed. GET RID OF THE COMMON MAN.

You are right. If he's going to give someone like that young woman a seat on his panel, he needs to let her complete a thought. It was like watching Gary Payton go one on one with my nine year-old nephew. Although he clearly won (and lots of people here seem to love the way he did it), he's not going to win many people over if he appears to be pummeling on a kid who is not a pro, in my opinion. Again, if you give her a seat, let her talk. (I thought the pastor on the panel was good with her...not exciting television, but he treated her respectfully.)

Besides - the beginning of that segment was a real snoozer. Maybe he can get it working, but it's not working yet.

This is a format us meat-and-potatoes FReepers can sink our teeth into. Much better and more informative than a five-minute O'Reilly segment or a five-minute screamfest on the "point-counterpoint" shows like Hannity & Commie
