But while he easily fought Chrysler's then-Chairman Lee Iaccoca, Kerkorian met his match in the scheming Bonder. He refused her constant begging for marriage so, in 1997, . In a move to legitimize the child's birth, they married on the condition that she waive all spousal support and divorce a month later.

Excuse me, she didn't get pregnant by herself. He did carry on a decade long affair with the woman. He could have broken up with her if she was scheming. It takes two to tangle. No 74 year old billionaire takes up with a 26 year old hottie because he thinks she is a great homemaker and no 26 year old hooks up with a 74 year old billionaire because they both like The BackStreet Boys.

At least the guys in the article can afford it. How about the poor stiff who's wife leaves him through no fault of his own? If he's got two kids, he'll be lucky to see them more than four or five days a month. And if he brings home $3000 a month, he's going to pay at least half of that in child support while his ex continues working at her $40000 a year job.

My ex-wife has bled me for 18 years. She has refused to work, just collect any kind of check that is available to her. 5 kids by 3 fathers(I was the first). She gets free rent, food stamps, free medical, child support and whatever else the govt hands out. OH YEAH, she always has a brand new car.(for the kids)

Come May 1st, my son will be 18 and she can kiss my a$$.

If it sounds like I'm bitter, well I'm past that stage now(LOL)!!

The Feminist Idea Of Independence

They can take it all, but in the end they still remain frustrated, for as a phoenix we rise with our manhood intact once again to rebuild our lives, and that my friend is a mouthful.

Like they say --- a fool and his money are easily parted. If these very wealthy men really thought the women loved them for themselves and not for their money, they got to learn the hard way. Anyone who meets a stripper like Anna Nicole Smith and brings her home deserves losing his money to her.

To: DNA Rules,
Interesting timing on this article... I just got a spam advertisement in my e-mail box this afternoon, announcing a seminar on "how to marry a rich man and then divorce him." It was being held in Atlanta, Georgia.

The topics included in the seminar included how to dress, where to find rich men, how to decide if you want to divorce him, and what to do if you decide to stay married. Charming, eh?

I wrote back, asking to be taken off the list, and asking how this was any different from outright prostitution? If women want an income equal to men's, they can go out and earn one just like men's income. Or, if they want to be a stay-at-home spouse, they can do that too.

But they can't have it both ways--or, IMO, they should not be able to have their cake and eat it too.

Been there, done that. But it's nice someone's finally telling the truth after all these decades.

These guys with money aren't innocent bystanders. They are adults and as such should know what they are doing.

Many of them use their money and fame to attact the kind of woman who looks like she could get a man with money. The woman is a status symbol to them. They know what they are doing.

In any case, the children deserve the support of the father and to live at the standard of living of the highest paid parent. The children deserve every penny and then some IMO for the @#%@ they probably have to put up with from both their immature parents.

I do think the fathers should have equal custody. I have suspicions about how many of them actually want it. However, giving them the benifit of the doubt, the courts should award joint custody to both parents. It is the fairest thing to do for all concerned.

These ridiculous rules were enacted to protect kids but they never did. I was a child of divorce in the 50's. My Dad never paid a dime of child support. My Mom even found my Dad, spending precious funds on a private investigator. We gave the court his address but they never did anything. Mom worked a variety of jobs, at a theater, as a waitress and finally as a personal secretary to an executive. That secretary gig lasted 4 years then the company moved. Back to being a sales clerk and 50 ways to eat hamburger. We couldn't afford a fancy lawyer. These women in the article are manipulating the laws that were meant to protect kids in the situation we were in. Too bad they never did. My Dad just died in March. His 4th wife got everything. Do I care? Not really but I'd have loved to have been mentioned for getting some kind of momento or keepsake. The law can't change a selfish, thoughtless Dad, they just enrich a conniving wife.

I know their are golddiggers out there, heck, maybe I don't blame them. Maybe it is a job.

About 10 or 15 years ago there was a woman that was a "sitter", that is someone that stays with and helps mostly bedfast patients.

Anyway, she got a job with a rich old man. He refused nursing homes and hired her to look after him.

His kids seldom came to see him.

After she worked a few months for him he wanted to marry her and she said no. But he kept asking and she finally told him she would, because he would get so upset when she would tell him "no".

She kept putting it off until he got so upset that she had to call an ambulance.

After he was stabilized she agreed to be married. They were, then a few months later he died.

This woman was old (50 or so), fat and unattractive. The old man had changed his will, and left everything to her.

His kids contested the will but lost.

I've been divorced for 10 years now, and my ex-husband only pays me a $150 per month towards our son, who is now almost 16. And, he's over $5k in arrears. I must have had a crappy lawyer. (LOL!)

There is no easy answer to your question.

Supposedly the child support is for the purpose of taking care of the children. However there is no accounting. Once the mother gets the money she can do any damn thing she wants to with it.

Here are my observations:

Women are far more venomous at making false accusations in court. Men rarely do so. Such things affect the judge.

In general judges for whatever reason seem to be prejudicial against the husband. They are also anxious to throw the man in jail - which is hardly practical since you can’t make child support payments from jail.

Women have the ability to take the man to court multiple times and the judge will inevitably award attorney’s fees.

If the man has custody it is another game.

The woman can with good legal advice avoid going to court for a long period of time. If you ever get a judgment against her - provided you have the money for legal fees - she can go back to court and claim some form of change of circumstances. That strategy won’t work for the man. Once you get a judgment the situation is generally handled by the lower people in the legal system. Those are without doubt feminist women. As in we’ll have someone call you back - yeah I’m still waiting. The alternative is to go back to court and ask for an enforcement of the judgment. Do you realize how fast attorney’s fees can add up? Do you realize how many times you can go back to court to enforce a judgment? The woman can bleed you dry and the court system doesn’t care - or else it regards its job as providing work for attorneys.

And then it isn’t over. There is no limit to the number of times she can take you back to court to get custody back.

As far as I can tell the system is set up to punish the father.

If you are involved in one of these messes, never ever miss a court appointment because the judge will automatically award whatever the wife will ask for. Even then it’s not that simple. I flew half way across the country for a deposition only to have the wife’s attorney cancel the deposition an hour ahead of time. There are many other games. You just have to look out for them. They are designed to wear you down and bankrupt you.
