This could lead to the world-wide Lefebvrite schism to end. Praise God!

The SSPX will fold like a cheap suitcase.

28,000 Lefebvre Catholics is a major schism? This is like saying a camel who sheds a hair has lost a major body part.

They were vociferous!

Jimmy Lefebvre was a great second baseman for the Dodgers in the '60s.
I can't thing of any other angle to make this relevant.

28,000 Lefebvre Catholics is a major schism? That's just the total for Brazil.
But this is the beginning of the end of the SSPX.

Are vociferous. The other 300 priests and their followers are still in schism. There is hope for their return, but even if the SSPX comes back it is likely that some traditionalist groups and parishes wouldn't. Still, this is a great advance, and hopefully the SSPX will reuinify with Rome.

Worldwide this is a major schism. That this faction within a very Catholic nation is willing to go home to Rome is very significant and sends a signal to the faction in other nations. It is the first domino, hopefully, in a series of many.

A frenchman (Lefebvre) out of communion with Rome. Hmmmm, sounds familiar.LOL!

And once the SSPXers are safely back in the fold, after a decent interval, they can finally and fully outlaw the Latin Mass. That's been the Vatican's aim from the start.

Thanks be to God! Thanks be to Our Lady, Mother of the Church, for her intercession before Him! Thanks be to holy St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, for his intercession before the Throne of Christ! This is great news!
