Oklahoma City School Children Pledge Allegence To BLACK Flag!

Posted on 01/14/2002 9:31:42 AM PST by MindBender26

This is their pledge to the BLACK flag, not American flag, but BLACK flag, said by children of one Oklahoma City innercity school district, the Millwood School District.

We pledge allegiance of the red, black and green
Our flag, the symbol of our eternal struggle,
and to the land we must obtain.
One nation of Black people,
with one God for us all,
Totally united in the struggle for Black Love,
Black Freedom, and Black determination.

Think I am kidding? Here is their webpage: http://www.millwood.k12.ok.us/MPS%20Students.htm

Notice it calls for honor to the Black flag, not the US flag. It also calls for separation of Black people onto their own land, given to them by the US. In addition, it calls for students to have Black love, Black freedom, and Black determination. Quite different from "... liberty and justice for ALL."

Your tax dollars are paying for this!!!! No wonder so many innercity kids can't read or write when this is what our educational dollars are being spent on!

I bet you're a Henry Rollins fan.

The architect of this idea must be a "loose nut" and should douse another "six pack." Definitely sounds like a "nervous breakdown."

I think that one needs to make some distinctions here, if we are to be entirely fair. The strivings of many American Negroes for an enhanced sense of their own identity is not, per se, a bad thing. It is a natural striving. While it should never be allowed as an excuse to fabricate history--there is not gain for anyone, living a lie--so long as it is not antagonistic to the ongoing well being of others, it should be treated with respect.

The Jesse Jacksons are in no sense the reason for this stirring. Jackson represents a very defininte anti-Caucasian, anti-American mindset. He wants to blame traditional America, and particularly its Caucasian mainstream, for all the woes, not only of the Negro, but of every other definable group, that can be induced to feel that it has a grievance, including any Whites foolish enough to identify with the "Rainbow Coalition."

Nor should those who are merely seeking a positive sense of whom they are, be damned because of some of the militant groups who advocate a form of race war. Those people are a distinct class to themselves.

Genuine, patriotic, American Conservative thinkers who happen to be Negro, should not be lumped either to one of the identity groups, or to the whining socialist panderers around Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. Men such as Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell are speaking out as genuine thinkers, as exponents of sound thoughts, with a broader--though more tightly defined--agenda, than any of the other groups.

My point is that it is as major a mistake to lump all Negroes into one interest group, as it would be to lump all Caucasians or all Indians into one interest group. Race is important, but it does not determine virtue. All of us have a certain amount of free will, and that means a lack of uniformity; and we should not be insensitive to the struggle of any people for virtue. (This does not mean that we should continue the insane multi-cultural immigration policy. It is one thing to recognize rights to diversity in a distinct people who have been here four hundred years; quite another to invite unnecessary confusion of purpose.)

WELCOME from Superintendent Gloria Griffin

Welcome to the Millwood Public School District Website. Millwood - the school district on the hill! Millwood the school district on the rise! Millwood - the home of the mighty Falcons! The Millwood Public School District is a wonderful place for students to learn and this website provides you with the opportunity to learn more about us.

The website is for access to information on the district, the schools, the human resource division, and parent activities. We plan to improve continuously its offerings, so if you have comments or ideas about this site please utilize the e-mail links provided to forward your suggestions to us. We hope to make this a useful site for parents and community members, teachers, students, alumni and people wanting to learn about our school system and community.

The Millwood Public School District is located in northeast Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and has an enrollment of approximately 1050 students in grades Pre- kindergarten through 12. The district was formed in 1898 and has graduated many outstanding students. All decisions are weighed on the scale of benefits to students. With a mission to prepare all students academically and socially for lifelong learning and achievement, the elementary school has a full day kindergarten; Spanish instruction in grades K-5; certified, full time music; physical education; and counselor. Instrumental music instruction is available after school and continues in the middle school and high school.

The district and high school have received state and national recognition for exemplary programs. Millwood students excel in the classroom and the community. Millwood High School provides a range of academic and athletic opportunities outside of the regular school day. In each Millwood school, staff members and parents are committed to working together to help students reach the outer-limits of their abilities from pre-kindergarten through graduation. Please browse through the Millwood Public School District site for more information on the people and programs that make Millwood a very special place to learn and live.

GREG KNAPP, afternoon guy at 570 KLIF, Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex just brought the topic up. Said his producer has continued throughout the afternoon to contact Millwood. They did get through and confirmed it is a school district but the folks in Millwood are not interested in discussing this.

Where did I get story?

Plain old newsies news nose and luck.

Had FR discussion about South Carolina NAACP clown the other day. Met him once at a meeting I was covering. Group recited the pledge to the Black flag and sang Black National Anthum.

Somebody on FR said no such ting existed..... so a little Google search.... and Bingo.

I know that area of OKC, made a few phone calls, got really brassed off, and posted it to FR, because I knew it would get some legs here.

Looks like it's going national!

Way to go FR!

Closely related to this topic is the whole Kwanzaa fraud. There's a browser-buster of a knock-down, drag-out fight thread here on FR. Go here.
