Oklahoma City School Children Pledge Allegence To BLACK Flag!

Posted on 01/14/2002 9:31:42 AM PST by MindBender26

This is their pledge to the BLACK flag, not American flag, but BLACK flag, said by children of one Oklahoma City innercity school district, the Millwood School District.

We pledge allegiance of the red, black and green
Our flag, the symbol of our eternal struggle,
and to the land we must obtain.
One nation of Black people,
with one God for us all,
Totally united in the struggle for Black Love,
Black Freedom, and Black determination.

Think I am kidding? Here is their webpage: http://www.millwood.k12.ok.us/MPS%20Students.htm

Notice it calls for honor to the Black flag, not the US flag. It also calls for separation of Black people onto their own land, given to them by the US. In addition, it calls for students to have Black love, Black freedom, and Black determination. Quite different from "... liberty and justice for ALL."

Your tax dollars are paying for this!!!! No wonder so many innercity kids can't read or write when this is what our educational dollars are being spent on!

My wife is black, and always points out something that seems pertinent here. There should be no such thing as "black leaders." The leaders who speak for blacks who are not confused leftist separatists are the same leaders who speak for for the rest of us committed conservatives - regardless of skin color.

Also, there are noted black thinkers who don't agree with this approach. Condi Rice, JC Watts, Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, and so on and so on. The trick is that the liberal media and race baiters refuse to give them the title "black leader." You only get that title bestowed on you if you're a leftist.

yeah right. we could give them their own land. I would actually be glad to do it, but the deal is no welfare, no afdc, no food stamps, no section 8, no WIC. They have to stand on their own. You know what? they wouldnt take it. Or if they did, all you have to do is look at somalia, rowanda, botswana, or mozambique for the results. Why do YOU still have your kids in public scrools?

Why only in this country?

A few of the reasons: Black Panthers; H.Rap Brown; Jesse J.; Black Muslims; Al Sharpton; fellow travelers like Hilary Clinton (blatantly in her Yale years-I believe she is still the same arrogant leftist idiot she was then ); the leftist media; US hating academics; more..........of....same.

How do I feel about this pledge? It's unAmerican, divisive, hateful, hurtful, and all the pejoratives others here have named.

Just found another school that does "The Negro National Anthem" every morning before school.

This song was originally written by Johnson for a presentation in celebration of the Abraham Lincoln's birthday. This was originally performed in Jacksonville, Florida, by children. The popular title for this work is The Negro National Anthem. We sing this song at Suder every morning.

Henry Suder School phone: (773) 534-7685
2022 West Washington fax: (773) 534-7244
Chicago, IL 60612
Principal's email: Rebecca.B.Mcdaniel@cps.k12.il.us

http://schools.cps.k12.il.us/suder/index.htm.

You should see their projects from last year - the majority of which were all about blacks, blacks, civil rights, blacks, slavery, blacks, blacks, etc. etc. Is this a school or an indoctrination center? - stupid question...

Insulting and demeaning-the white liberal elitists and their black captains LOVE IT, tho. How they love this divisive stuff. Their house of cards is founded on such.

Now take the next logical step and consider the consequences of the collapse of that house of cards. As bad as the Taliban were, these folks are worse. War is coming.

My take is that this is your typical, leftist attempt to divide and conquer as opposed to edify Americanism in general and black America's history in helping to define Americanism in particular. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a particular people to have pride in themselves, I don't care if that people is blue, green, or purple. But attention must always be paid to the fine print. The people who crafted this "pledge" is from the leftist nether regions hailing their god, Karl Marx.

I'm not surprised.

I don't know how successful their attempt will be with enough attention by our side focussed on the issue.

I sincerely appreciate your asking me this question as an individual. My point-of-view may or may not be indicative of all American blacks, and I do not have the chutzpah to even claim that my opinion is. It's bad enough that the media looks to the race-baiters as the "official" voice of American blacks, but it's doubly irritating to me to listen to those supposedly on my side (the Right) refer to us as "the Blacks," and make a sweepting generalization. Their belief in the idea of individualism gets thrown out of the window here, and those on our side is just as guilty of collectivist thinking on the issue of American black people. It's not a First Amendment issue, and those on the Right can say what they will when they feel like it. But I'll say this: I'll ride their John Brown hindparts whenever I see it.

I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding examples. I do policy analysis of the education industry for a publishing country, and there are many many many schools across the country with an explicitly "Afrocentric" curriculum. They are mostly public/charter schools in urban areas with almost exclusively black student populations.

The Zinj Empire of ancient africa?? BS, the term Zinj el Barr is an arabic term for "land of the black people" comes from the arabs around the year 600 AD. There was no great empire there before the Greeks and Romans, i.e. in ancient times. This is pure fantasy/mythology. the following is a short synopsis of the Zanzibar area of Africa:
ZANZIBAR OVER TIME
3000 BC Egyptians sailed the east African coast and may have landed on Zanzibar.
600 BC Phoenicians circumnavigated Africa.
1 AD Greeks and Romans sailed east African coast looking for ivory. They called the coast "Azania" and the island of Unguja "Menouthesias."
100 AD Kingdom of Saba ( Sheba) dominated Zanzibar and east coast of Africa. Zanzibaris still call themselves "Shirazi."
600 AD Arabs from Oman named the east coast of Africa "Zinj el Barr," meaning "Land of Black People", and established the east african slave trade and routes in this area which persisted up through modern times. The whole east African coast and the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba were called Zanzibar until the late1400s.
900 AD Persians emigrated to Zanzibar but lost their separate identity as they were absorbed into two Islamic groups, the Hadimu and Tumbatu. Omani Arabs continued to dominate the islands from the Omani capital, Muscat, and to direct trade in slaves, ivory, gold, and tortoiseshell.
1500 AD Portuguese ruled after Vasco da Gama sailed to India in 1497 and "discovered" the Spice Islands for Europe. During the early 1500's, Portuguese conquered Zanzibar, Mombasa, Pemba, Hormuz and Muscat.
1650 AD Omani Arabs expelled Portuguese from Muscat and, by 1668, reclaimed the east African coast.
1696 AD Omani Arabs expelled the Portuguese-supported sultanate from Zanzibar. The Sultan of Oman ruled Zanzibar from Muscat through appointed governors.
1832 AD The Sultan of Oman, Sultan bin Ahmed, made Zanzibar the capital of his empire
1861 AD Zanzibar broke free of Oman and became an independent sultanate.
1890 AD Great Britain declared a protectorate over Zanzibar.
1963 AD Zanzibar joined the British Commonwealth.
1964 AD Zanzibar and Tanganyika united to form "Tanzania," a republic. Africans ousted the Arab ruling class from Zanzibar.

wcbtinman, see post 90

rdb3, You should write a letter on this issue to this contact - Nancy Yoder [yoder@kwtv.com] from KWTV. You write well and have a point of view that I cannot know.

Just a thought.

Believe me I know how you feel.

I just can't stand the fact that Black Conservatives are not given a counter voice to the Jesse Jackson's and other Militant "leaders".

What about the Bars and Stars issue....The so called black leaders said not even the hint of division or separation should be allowed, and especially not paid for by the state (tax dollars).
