In case anybody missed it, there's a full-scale, no-holds-barred air war going on right now. A massive one. Daisy-cutters, 2,000-pound bunker-busters -- you name it. Bombs are dropping faster than you can blink. Squadrons of B-52s -- AKA 'big ugly fat fellows' -- are prowling the heavens, pounding enemy positions, unleashing their fiery wrath, carpet bombing around-the-clock....the works.

The LA Times is today reporting that the problem is not now the scandal but the investigation. We need a special prosecutor. This Justice Department is not capable of running an honest investigation, etc, etc. A couple of things are at work here. First, the Dems have to have a special prosecutor so the scope of the investigation will be restricted to the Bush administration. They won't get this and it worries them because an open ended investigation of possibly criminal activity brings the Clintons and the Democrat Party into the cross hairs. The second dynamic has to be of equal or greater concern. This investigation will be handled by the same group of agents who were forced by upper management to ignore hard evidence against the Clintons and their friends and facilitators. Paybacks being what they are and all... This all adds up to a bunch of hurt for the Democrat Party and their wanna be standard bearers. The Dems will now try and put a lid on it, too late. My half-pence. gbc

Sure they made phone calls. Its called representative democracy and last time I heard its not a crime to call a public official seeking help with a problem. Unless Enron asked for a quid pro quo here where's the smoke. Unless you think every other business doesn't deal with government officials regularly. The only reason this is getting unusual attention is not the phone calls but because Enron went bankrupt.

They made phone calls and were told NO!

Now Waxman says they should have intervened to save Enron. Yeah right, like Waxman would accept that. Plus, does Waxman really think the government should save companies that are going down due to improper accounting and possible criminal actions? What a dip.

"Signs are this phony "scandal" is headed in the opposite direction -- away from implicating current administration officials. "

Great article.
You are correct...but not in the way you think.
I believe that this will head in the opposite direction...towards the Dems. I think we will find that there was more Enron hanky panky going on between the last Administration than this one. At least, I'm hoping so.
The big question is, when that happens, will the Liberal media let this one disappear from the radar screen or will Der Shlikmeister and his crew of n'er-do-wells finally get their come uppance?

"A political party whose sole obession, whose only mission is to bring down the President -- come hell or high water -- is a party destined, rightfully, for the ash heap"

This is so true - this has been Daschle's goal from day one - find out what Bush wants to do and then STOP IT!

Mr. President, How dare you be so ethical?!

Excerpt:

In case anybody missed it, there's a full-scale, no-holds-barred air war going on right now. A massive one. Daisy-cutters, 2,000-pound bunker-busters -- you name it. Bombs are dropping faster than you can blink. What's that you say? Haven't heard of this? Thought the war was over, eh? Well Fuggedaboudit! Flick on the idiot box, kick up your feet, sit back and enjoy (Drum roll, please?) -- OPERATION ENRON!!! Yep, folks, it's Enron at dawn, Enron at noon, Enron at dusk. Enron 24/7. The media high command has declared an air war against the Bush administration; The White House, like the mountains of Tora Bora, has become ground zero for media strike bombardiers.

Kidding aside, never -- ever -- in my life have I seen anything quite like what we're witnessing right now.

Media bias is one thing. We've all seen it. We've all tasted it. Heaven knows we've all groused about it, perennially. Bernard Goldberg's bombshell has soared to near the top of the New York Times best-seller list, and for good reason.

But, Ladies and Gentlemen, what we're witnessing goes beyond simple 'bias' -- well beyond. This isn't bias, this is fraud. Wholesale fraud. . . . . . .

Another great job, John! Thanks!
(((PING))))))

LOL.

Yes indeed, quilty. It's the new judicial term for ultra-rich fat cats who are unfortunate enough to get caught being stupid in public and wind up being thrown onto the hoosegow.
