THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News' new hire, Greta Van Susteren. Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

First off Alan Keys is not a republican. He was the Libertarian Party candidate in 2000...

Were you born an idiot, or did you have to work at it. I assume that you know that the Libertarian candidate was Harry Browne, and that Alan Keyes has been nominated so frequently as the GOP candidate in various elections that that is one of the criticisms against him.

Imagine having spent the last 6 months in a cave, and you turn on TV for the first time... on Fox News, you see Geraldo Rivera and Greta Van Sustern... you see Fox on the lower right hand corners, but don't believe your eyes... you then hit the clicker to MSNBC and see Alan Keyes...

Excellent. I hope it is broadcast over the web - I've missed Dr. Keyes programme ever since he ran for office.

Keyes with his own show? Fantastic. Why didn't Fox think of this?

Fox just hasn't gotten to outright blatant Bush bashing hosts.......yet!!! Give them time! However, I doubt that even Bush Bashing will get MSNBC more listeners.

Alan Keyes is one of the most effective conservative speakers that I've ever heard. If he gets more national exposure, there will be many converts.

How about listing all the ones he was NOMINATED for; not the ones he RAN for; list ALL the ones you say that he has been NOMINATED for so frequently.

I wonder how the Keyesters will explain it when Keyes gets horrible ratings because nobody wants to listen to his bombastic verbose talk about himself.

Oh, what am I saying? They'll say two things:

1) Keyes is much too smart for the "rest of us" to understand.

Or they'll say

2) It's because he's black.

I like Alan - soulda been president - I think he has more morality than the whole of Washington, DC. And he comes with NO baggage.

Well, this is an interesting development. MSNBC appears to be appealing to the far right with this selection, while Ailes is still following his "we report, you decide" form of balance with the hiring of two known Clinton supporters.

There is one other reason MSNBC could be seriously looking at hiring Keyes: they need a known Bush-basher on board.

Oh, Greta? I represent the official viewpoint of CNN, and as far as we are concerned, you are an UNGRATEFUL TRAITOR!!!
