First off Alan Keys is not a republican. He was the Libertarian Party candidate in 2000...

Excellent. I hope it is broadcast over the web - I've missed Dr. Keyes programme ever since he ran for office.

Keyes with his own show? Fantastic. Why didn't Fox think of this?

Alan Keyes is one of the most effective conservative speakers that I've ever heard. If he gets more national exposure, there will be many converts.

I like Alan - soulda been president - I think he has more morality than the whole of Washington, DC. And he comes with NO baggage.

Meanwhile, Van Susteren, a lawyer before her O.J. Simpson commentary turned her into a CNN star, reportedly has penned an eight-page memo detailing CNN's demerits. She plans to keep the document secret as long as CNN doesn't try to paint her as an ungrateful traitor.

Oh, Greta? I represent the official viewpoint of CNN, and as far as we are concerned, you are an UNGRATEFUL TRAITOR!!!

Will Alan have a guest?

I can't imagine more than one guest being able, in an hour, to get in a word edgewise.

I haven't seen him in this sort of position before. I hope he's as good a host as he is a debator. Cable@msnbc.com appears to be the address to Freep.

Whatever happened to Keyes's radio show?

I don't agree with everything Alan Keyes says, but he certainly says it well. I love hearing the guy talk and when he gets on a roll it can be downright inspiring. And, if I am not mistaken, Dr. Keyes' heritage is African-American. Bush's support among minorities is now as high as 40%. Having an articulate black Republican on TV every night, even one who is well to the right of Bush on many issues, will not be a bad thing for the GOP. Far from it. GO ALAN!

Whew....conflicts......while I adore Dr. Keyes and what he has to say most all the time, I surely won't PAY to carry the garbage from that station....UNLESS they were to give him a, say for instance, 2 - 3 hour show!

That said, Brian Lamb alluded to this 'wooing of Keyes' this morning on Washington Journal on CSPAN.

Over the weekend, C-Span reran the debate Keyes had with Alan Derschowitz last summer. That may have been his best performance ever. He tore the noted Harvard legal scholar demagogue completely apart. At one point, Derschowitz was so flustered he must of forgot who he was debating. He tried to play the Holocaust Card, (it had nothing to do with the point at hand) and Keyes just smiled and asked if he could then play the Race Card. It was great!

I hope Keyes does get a show, but if so, I think it’s a safe bet that Dershowitz will never be a guest. If he got any more beatings like that, the guy would be on permanent disability.

"THE folks at Msnbc are talking to former Republican presidential candidate
and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes
about hosting a 10 p.m. show up against Fox News..."

If they do, I'll be on MSNBC.
Keyes is the MAN!

MSNBC's only hope is to go after the conservative demographic like Fox has. They are hopelessly, deeply mired in third place, and they have no bench strength whatsoever. (This is because they've been chasing the "youth" demographic for as long as they've been around, which means they hire young people instead of experienced people, and nobody watches as a result. The strategy has worked somewhat, though; the average age of their viewer is only in the LOW 50s instead of the HIGH 50s that CNN and Fox get. *snicker* Too bad they only get about 1/3 the viewership of Fox or CNN in the first place.)
