Potential immigrants should be judged by one measure, Buchanan adds: "Are they likely to carry on our culture, which makes America a unique country and civilization? Or are they not?"

What exactly is "our culture?" Instead of being bedazzled by Buchanan's glibness, the reporter should have pressed him to define his terms.

Oswald Spengler  

The German historicist writer, Oswald Spengler, was born at Blankenburg, Harz, studied at Halle, Munich and Berlin and taught mathematics (1908) in Hamburg before devoting himself entirely to the compilation of the prophetic philosophy of history, The Decline of the West (Vol. I, 1918, Vol. II, 1922). In this work, Spengler argued by analogy, in the manner of Hegel and Marx, that all civilizations or cultures are subject to the same cycles of growth and decay in accordance with predetermined "historical destiny." The soul of Western Civilization is dead. The age of soulless expansionism and Caesarism is upon us. It is better for Western man, therefore, to be engineer rather than poet, soldier rather than artist, politician rather than philosopher. Spengler was more concerned with the present and future rather than with the origins of civilization.

Here, perhaps even in this century, the final decisions are waiting for the man to take them. In front of him the petty goals and concepts of today's politics count as nothing. Wonderful! Himself is putting on his Ultramontagne togs and trying to out-Spengler Spengler! Pat, I read Oswald Spengler's Untergang des Abendlandes, and you're no Oswald Spengler. Pat has become increasingly irrelevant and it seems that he senses it. As if in response, his writings have morphed from social commentary into Jeremiads that make Ayn Rand look saner every time he dips his quill in the inkwell.

A couple of comments about the latest blast from Pat:

1. The population explosion in Latin America is over. Pat is out of date. Mexico will be at a replacement rate fertility rate in 10 years. Brazil already is.

2. I think it was the Wall Street Journal that had a piece that 25% of Hispanics in the US do not speak any Spanish. Some are now taking lessons

3. I was amazed to see in a poll of American Muslims (which I posted) just how upscale they are. A majority have incomes over $50,000 per annum, and about half are professionals. I suspect the majority of them will assibiliate rapidly, except maybe for a continuing hostility to Israel.

4. Whatever our immigration policies, the world demographic numbers are what they are. Pat may wish that folks had more kids, but in a free society that is the choice of the individual, not Pat.

As usual, Pat is not very careful with his facts. He lets the demons of his own mind get in the way of a dispassionate analysis.

Man I hate it when immigrants come into a perfectly fine country and start corrupting it's culture with their own culture. I mean look at it! You can't go anywhere on March 17th without people wearing green, the Irish have their own university in the heartland of America of all places, and their religion is now highly respected in most big cities with their "Cardinals" and "Bishops" hobnobbing with our elected officials. Those foreigners are going to ruin us all!

If the policies that see the United States and Europe populace's caucasian race component being manipulated downward below 50% were good, then the same policies would be introduced in other nation's of the planet, so that no nation would have it's indigenous populace make up more than 50% of the whole.  For the record, the white populace in the United States was between 75 and 80% not more than 20 years ago.  That was the predominant indigenous populace.

The United States and Europe are being asked to open their borders to the rest of the world's populace.  Whoever wants to come should be able to according to the United Nations.  But when nations like South Africa and Zimbabwe persecute their white populace component who have immigrated there, the United Nations remains silent.  Zimbabwe is not ordered to stop confiscating the white farmers plantations.  They are not even demanded to stop killing those whites.

Within thirty years the white populace in the United States will dip below 50%.  Within that same period or perhaps a little more, all of Europe will experience the same.  There will not be a single nation on the planet with a majority populace of whites.  This isn't a racist statement.  It's simply an observation.  And having made that observation, it seems proper for people to discuss the merits of this eventuality.

Does the United Nations defend European nations or the United States?  Look at the absolute silence that emanated from the United Nations concerning the 09/11 attacks.  It took nearly a month for Kofi Annan to make a luke warm statement regarding the issue.  Even then the view was that any punitive measures should be measured and short.  Look at Zimbabwe today.  Am I supposed to trust that the United Nations will look out for my interests when our nation and all others have lost their white majority rule?

I realize and accept that some on this thread will think I am a racist.  Some of you will also question why I feel that this nation could be altered to the point that whites should fear a minority status.  Our constitution and government are mentioned as safeguards against this eventuality.  I would like to state that our constitution has already been shown to be of little protection from anti-gun legislation.  Reverse discrimination protections are almost nonexistent and the minority groups within this nation are already given far superior status.  Do you really think this is going to reverse when today's minorities become the majority?

The English language is being supplanted by Spanish.  In certain areas other languages are taking over.

We see the changes, we note that political climate, we lament the fact that we can barely elect conservative officials despite the criminality of the left.  We watch the leftist ideology stuffed down our children's throats via the education system.  Then we wonder why.

Folks.  There are some issues that need to be discussed.  It's already almost too late.  Condemn me if you must, but that condemnation will not be limited to me.  It's effects will be cast upon my children and their children, and your children and their children.

One thought about the above. Given the very high cost of raising and educating a child with middle class standards (what is the number these days, something like $200,000 per child?), the tax break would have to be very generous indeed to really have much of an impact in getting the folks he wants to get to procreate more. (And that number doesn't even factor in the time commitment issues associated with raising kids.) But then, keeping a lid on spending was never one of Pat's passions.

Katherine Ramsland, Piercing the Darkness: Undercover with Vampires in America Today: An in-depth psychological and sociological look at and analysis of the vampire underground. Ramsland, a psychologist, went undercover into the vampire underground, interviewed those in the vampire culture and reports on what she saw firsthand, as well as giving numerous evaluations of the culture by other researchers, artists, and psychologists who have studied this subculture. Her book also devotes a chapter to the vampire role-playing games.

Jeff Guinn, Something in the Blood: Guinn, an author and associate book editor, traveled around the country with Andy Greiser, a newspaper editorial assistant, and they report on their one-on-one interviews with various people who research or are active in the vampire underground. There is not a lot of analysis, but there is good observation and objective presentation of the people they interviewed, as well as a look at vampire folklore and the vampire in literature and movies.

Rosemary Guiley, Vampires Among Us: Guiley, a researcher and author who has written several books on occult and paranormal topics, presents a more personal but insightful approach, describing stories of vampires and her encounters with people who consider themselves vampires. Guiley also considers the history and folklore of vampires and their differences with today’s vampire scene.

Buchanan concludes in The Death of the West, American women should be encouraged via tax breaks to increase the country's population: "A free society cannot force women to have children, but a healthy society can reward those who preserve it by doing so."

Question 1: Who gets to decide who is "American" or not? The answer obviously is government, according to Comrade Pat.

Question 2: How will this "Americaness" be determined? You can be born in America, speak English as a native tongue and have an American passport yet be on "the other side" - witness Berkeley.

Question 3: What happened to the idea that the government should not play a role in social engineering? It didn't work when the leftists tried it, why should Pat be any more successful?

America and Britain have problems with new immigrants assimilating. But producing a vague scheme with no clear standards that sounds rather like how the Nazis used to reward "productive" mothers is no answer either.

Of course the Patsie idiots will still shout "Buchanan Akbar" anyway.
