PERVASIVE PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS IN INDIA (my title)
Chicago Tribune ^ | October 29th, 1999 | Uli Schmetzer

The mob arrived armed with knives and clubs while Rev. Joy Punnose addressed the 120 missionaries gathered in the small town of Dohad in northern Gujarat, an Indian state where Christians have become almost daily targets for Hindu mobs.

The kicks, punches and slaps that followed were not unusual in the northern part of this country, the so-called Hindu belt, where dozens of Christian churches went up in smoke this year, an Australian missionary and his two sons were burned alive, another priest was beaten to death, nuns have been gang-raped, congregations terrorized and priests made to walk naked through village streets.

It isn't "my view" that India owns Pakistan. Re-read the post. The Pakistani people were given the "right" to their own nation, it is the Kashmir that is in dispute, which was ruled at the time (1947)by a Hindu prince who wished to avoid joining India or Pakistan. The division that took place in 1947 did not include the Kashmir, which was part of India at the time. (If you don't like the "unusualness" of that, or understand it, what is that to me? It is the truth.)

I do agree that world war would not be a good thing, but since the world is ruled by chaos, confusion, and ignorance, it might happen.

Are you going to answer my question? I'll ask again. Why are you ignorantly trying to stir up anti-hinduism feeling among Christians at FR?

Your revisionist history of Kashmir is, uh, shall we say partisan. If a referendum were held today, no one can doubt that Kashmir would join up with Pakistan. Why would a predominantly Muslim country want to be ruled by a Hindu-fascist regime?

Which brings me to the answer to your question: Hinduism per se I could care less about. But the fundamentalist version of it being promulgated by the ruling BJP of India is dangerous. That's what the nuke scare is all about.

My revisionist history, Justin? I think not:-)

You aren't going to escape the truth. The Kashmir belongs to India, not Pakistan, and there would be peace but for the terrorist Muslims who wish to see all Hindus killed. India is not a "fascist" regime, and I think you are smart enough to know it. (I could be mistaken about that, though.)

But the fundamentalist version of it being promulgated by the ruling BJP of India is dangerous.

The fundamentalist version of Hinduism is NOT being promulgated in India. Since you can't explain "hindu fundamentalism" you wouldn't know that though, would you? Furthermore, you're not interested in learning, as you've said. In short, the truth doesn't bother you in the least.

You're lying, Mr. Raimondo, or you're an idiot.

That's what the nuke scare is all about.

Three times -- you're out.

None of the other invasions you mentioned are relevent to the Aryan term. There was only one "Aryan" invasion historians and ethnologist are concerned about. All the later invasions are called by different names as you have indicated. Why don't you listen to your own list.

Now go back to 3000 B.C. if you wish to learn of the Aryan invasion. If not, keep trying to insult your betters.

You are denying what countless Christians are testifying

Yes.. Countless Christians.. countless evidence.. There is such a plethora of evidence that you had to pull out an article from
Published: October 29th, 1999 Author: Uli Schmetzer

It is obvious that you are the one with an agenda for which you have filed away this article from 2 years back.

And you are a source of objectivity??

If a referendum were held today, no one can doubt that Kashmir would join up with Pakistan.

You are in ano position to speak for everyone.

It hardly seems in good taste for a non-Christian to be pooh-poohing the very ugly reality of anti-Christian persecution, including murders, in India, or anywhere for that matter. I am not a Christian, but I have great respect for believers and I don't think this is something to be taken lightly.

Your 2 year old article is hardly evidence.

I am not a Christian, but I have great respect for believers and I don't think this is something to be taken lightly.

Right, right. And I am sure that they don't appreciate your blind support of Jihad and empty accusations against Hindus, backed up with a 2 year old article. *yawn*

So you're against a referendum for Kashmir. So much for all the BS about how India is "the biggest democracy in the world." Instead, it's the biggest hypocrite. India agreed to a free vote, and then found many reasons to "delay" them -- for more than half a century! You really are a joke. Do you think you're going to get away with that on FreeRepublic, newbie?

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

We didn't exactly let South secede from the Union either, did we? What if blacks in Harlem decide to declare their on state there, tomorrow? Are we going to hold a referendum?

Pakistan and India were created simultaneously, originally being one imperial colony of Great Britain. So Kashmir and Jammu were an issue to begin with. It was then, more than 50 years ago, that India agreed to a plebiscite. But the vote was never held. If held today, most experts say that the Muslim majority would overwhelmingly choose Islamabad over New Delhi.

The BJP, of which there are some non-Hindu elements, is merely a front for the more militant Hindu-fascist groupings, such as the VHP and similar formations. After all, a Hindu ultra-nationalist murdered Gandhi. Of course, I could care less what form of government India adopts, and think the US should stay out, but once nutball fascists get their hands on nuclear weapons (and even threaten US troops stationed in Pakistan!) it's time to draw the line.
