So you're against a referendum for Kashmir. So much for all the BS about how India is "the biggest democracy in the world." We didn't exactly let South secede from the Union either, did we? What if blacks in Harlem decide to declare their on state there, tomorrow? Are we going to hold a referendum?

Pakistan and India were created simultaneously, originally being one imperial colony of Great Britain. So Kashmir and Jammu were an issue to begin with. It was then, more than 50 years ago, that India agreed to a plebiscite. But the vote was never held. If held today, most experts say that the Muslim majority would overwhelmingly choose Islamabad over New Delhi.
