Single Adult “Freepers” – New Year’s …What About Next Christmas?

Last week I posted a opinion piece about “Single and Alone for the Holidays” (No I’m not going to post a link! That article has run it’s course.)

You would be surprised at the number of responses I received via “Freep Mail” (There were millions!…well dozens.) Anywho, the thought occurred and was suggested by “Texana RED” (thanks for giving me permission to use your name) that next year we should have a Freeper Christmas Party for those of us who are single adults.

The original thread (No, I’m still not going to post a link.) was about how non-responsive churches are to the needs of single adults, especially during the “Holidays.”

What do you think? …About the idea of a Freeper Christmas party, I mean.

Think about what you did this last week… do you want to go through the same next year? Tell us! Maybe we all can make it happen!(The party...not the link to the other thread...which I still refuse to post!)

What are your plans for this New Years?

Whevever I get a new one I'm not just going to throw this one in the trash, I'm going to shoot it, run over it with my car, and then dump it in a lake where it can't cause any more pain

Oh no you don't - you're gonna bring it with you to the party next year so everyone can take a shot at it... LOL!!!

I honestly can say that I've never had whiskey. I know it's somewhat different than bourban. What's the differance?

Good Idea. I'm still mad at what was my Gateway from 3 years ago.

I'll bring my 3 1/2 inch buckshot shells and my 12 gauge Mossberg :D

I used to have a Gateway. 2 hard drives, three motherboards, and idiots for tech support.

Ouch. Doesn't sound like a fun experience. I've heard similar stories from other Gateway owners, though. My office had ALL Gateways when I got there (for desktops, anyway), and was just preparing to replace the old ones with more, in spite of the problems they'd had. I had a hissy fit and whined and complained and carried on, and they changed to Dell. We still have the first batch of Gateways that were ordered when they were starting to replace things, though. They keep me employed. ;-)

Not to mention that I think Gateway is DEMOCRAT.

I should give it a try. I'm hooked on single-malt scotch. I'm working on a new bottle of Glenfiddich these days.

Why put it out of its misery quickly when I could make it suffer using one of my .22s?

LOL! Though even that may be too fast for the evilest computers. It's almost too bad that they contain some pretty toxic stuff...I'd enjoy disembling mine down to the last screw and torching it bit by bit. Nasty thing.

What are your plans for this New Years?

To sit here, watch my kids' feet grow, and get older alone. Isn't that sad?

If you mean by Gateway, Ted Waitt, then you are correct sir. He's a way-leftist. Gateway made fantastic computers until Ted turned things over to other people around 1996, that's when quality sunk. That's also about the time I left the company.

Hm. Now I can feel even better about bashing them every chance I get. Thanks!

Yep. Ted Waitt.

And that makes perfect sense. My parents bought a Gateway in 96. I bought mine in 97, and it was washed up in 98, and I finally had enough that spring and got the Alienware.

You want some truly cruddy desktops, try HP's. I'd sooner have anything else. My shop is 100% IBM now, having dropped both Unisys and NCR. I'd never want to change that. IBM is fantastic. We finally (Thank God) went single-source with Cisco too.

LOL HP.

My dad works for Ford Motor and got a computer in the contract. The subcontract was through People PC. HP was the type of computer and printer.

I call it People Producing Crap.
