Single Adult “Freepers” – New Year’s …What About Next Christmas?

Last week I posted a opinion piece about “Single and Alone for the Holidays” (No I’m not going to post a link! That article has run it’s course.)

You would be surprised at the number of responses I received via “Freep Mail” (There were millions!…well dozens.) Anywho, the thought occurred and was suggested by “Texana RED” (thanks for giving me permission to use your name) that next year we should have a Freeper Christmas Party for those of us who are single adults.

The original thread (No, I’m still not going to post a link.) was about how non-responsive churches are to the needs of single adults, especially during the “Holidays.”

What do you think? …About the idea of a Freeper Christmas party, I mean.

Think about what you did this last week… do you want to go through the same next year? Tell us! Maybe we all can make it happen!(The party...not the link to the other thread...which I still refuse to post!)

What are your plans for this New Years?

There were a couple of inconsistencies with the books, but overall I was VERY impressed, and I am not that easily impressed.

Same here. I went in expecting to be disappointed, as I usually am with book adaptations. Instead I was blown away. There were only a few changes that I didn't think made sense (Frodo not getting to stand up to the riders at the Ford, mainly), and some additions and changes I liked as much or more than the way things happened in the book. I won't post a review or nuffin (being good - people see enough LOTR threads as it is), but I liked it.

You can have Aragorn, by the way. He WAS gorgeous, much better than my own idea of his appearance as a matter of fact, but Sam's still my favorite guy. ;-)

How old are your brothers & sisters? My brother & sister-in-law who usually aren't too strict said my 10-year-old nephew couldn't go to LOTR, too intense. They were thinking maybe 15 years old.

Here's the link. There are lots of very attractive single Freepettes. Just wish more of them would update their FR profiles with their vital statistics. Might be very helpful if they are looking for Freeper guys. hint, hint!!

I know what you mean. I think we've had more than enough threads on the movie! However, I can't help raving about it a little bit. The 2 parts that bothered me most were the lack of the ponies (I loved the ponies in the book) and I think Galadriel appeared just a bit too soon. I think it was The Two Towers where she entered the story. All of the characters had VERY expressive eyes!

They're probably right. My 13 yo brother was the youngest of my family group that went - no way would I have taken my 11 yo sister. No bad language or sexuality, as I said, but there are some pretty scary and/or gory parts. Depends on the kid, though.

You can bookmark my link to the thread that gets you to the Photo Album. Dan, being a young guy just linked you to the album itself, which you can't bookmark on your FR profile page.

BTW, Dan, it looks like Rosiecotten is in your age range.

"get real drunk then make it to mass the next morning"

Well, I reckon you've heard the mating call of a southern lady:

Shheeeaatt....I'm so drunk!

I went to it for the second time last week, and someone brought three kids that were anywhere from 7-10, and all they did after the first hour was chase back and forth to the snack counter and giggle. It was very distracting for first-timers I imagine.

Thanks. BTW, since you responded to my LOTR question, I used to have a boyfriend who lived in S.D. for several years (Ellsworth A.F.B.) but since we broke up we don't talk anymore. So I've been wanting to ask someone from S.D. about the prospect of Dashole. Is he a lock for reelection there, no matter what he does? And if so, why!?!?

I been wonderin' that myself. Unfortunately, I don't know anybody in S.D either.

I been busy trying to figure out how to neuter John McCain here in Arizona.

No, he's not a lock. The truth is, he got to his current position like a glacier, really slowly. He started out getting elected to Congress in the 70's as a socially conservative dem. S. Dakotans are too nice. They've allowed him to stay in office even though he has steadily drifted left in order to gain power in the Senate. Years ago, George McGovern did the same thing. People thought he was untouchable, and then he was upset and sent packing. It snuck up on him, like I think we're sneaking up on Tommie (the commie) in 2004. Many at FR, especially those unfamiliar with the state, will tell you otherwise, but that is how he got where he is.

And that's what matters(Unless it's that swine Budweiser).

I know you're a big Merlot fan. If you even come to stateside, you should pay a visit to Michigan's Leelanau vinyards in the North Country. Wine testing galore up there, and it's a beautiful part of the state not that far from Mackinac.

We're trying to do the impossible here. Get rid of Carl Lenin.

I think it's possible, but everything has to go right for us.

Swine referring to the animal that produces it? Funny...I'd always heard it was horse...
