Last week I posted a opinion piece about Single and Alone for the Holidays (No Im not going to post a link! That article has run its course.)
You would be surprised at the number of responses I received via Freep Mail (There were millions! well dozens.) Anywho, the thought occurred and was suggested by Texana RED (thanks for giving me permission to use your name) that next year we should have a Freeper Christmas Party for those of us who are single adults.
The original thread (No, Im still not going to post a link.) was about how non-responsive churches are to the needs of single adults, especially during the Holidays.
What do you think? About the idea of a Freeper Christmas party, I mean.
Think about what you did this last week do you want to go through the same next year? Tell us! Maybe we all can make it happen!(The party...not the link to the other thread...which I still refuse to post!)
What are your plans for this New Years?
...which is also a quality which makes FReepers so appealing.
May I have my Bushmills now? ;-)
hehehehehehe
(In a South Bahstin accent...or at least a nasily midwestern one)
I am visiting family for the holidays but went to see Lord of the Rings last night with a fellow FReeper, who I also met the last time I was here. He's married though so it wasn't THAT kind of meeting! We still enjoyed hanging out and going to the movie.
If you come to TX I can fix that accent problem of yours. :-)
He's good at that. Somebody must have requested delightfully charming gentlemen for a party!
Playboy? That's a travel magazine... right? Kids dreaming about places they're never going to go to.
Thanks for keeping me honest!
Yours truly,
Count Grumpey de Dumpster (As I'm known in Italy.) :)
Afraid not. I'm a bit older than that.
I'm a Tolkien geek and therefore noticed lots o' changes, but I thought it was excellent. One movie I could take my little brothers and sisters to without having to worry about cussin' and sex. Refreshing!
Don't you believe it! Why just a couple of weeks ago it was Dutch redheads! And men say WE are fickle!
You should bookmark it!
I thought the movie was WONDERFUL! The hobbits were so pure and innocent and the Shire was just as I had pictured it. Gandalf was so ageless and the elves SO other-worldly. And Aragon...*sigh*...was SO dashing and noble. The wraiths were the picture of creeping evil that was so encompassing in the book and the orcs so pathetically disgusting, the epitome of mindlessness as a tool in the hands of evil (hmm, probably vote democrat). The special effects were spectacular and the acting outstanding! There were a couple of inconsistencies with the books, but overall I was VERY impressed, and I am not that easily impressed.
LOL! I knew I'd get a confession out of him! He is SO easy.
