How old are your brothers & sisters? My brother & sister-in-law who usually aren't too strict said my 10-year-old nephew couldn't go to LOTR, too intense. They were thinking maybe 15 years old.

They're probably right. My 13 yo brother was the youngest of my family group that went - no way would I have taken my 11 yo sister. No bad language or sexuality, as I said, but there are some pretty scary and/or gory parts. Depends on the kid, though.

I went to it for the second time last week, and someone brought three kids that were anywhere from 7-10, and all they did after the first hour was chase back and forth to the snack counter and giggle. It was very distracting for first-timers I imagine.
