Look for the slim, silent finger of Red China in the present bin Laden terrorist situation. Look for the shifting of Muslim power closer to China. Look at the similarities in radical Muslim and Chinese thought. Read Sun Tsu . Then realize this is a warm-up for the real battle with China very shortly.

This is not a big negative. It actually makes America stronger.

Dubya's Uncle Prescott loves China. The first Bush rule is "make a fortune". It doesn't say how.

Yeah, I am worried about a strange marriage of Britan's Orwellian freakishness and Hitlers Secret Police being the end result.

Fine we grant permanent trade status to a nation that considers us their #1 enemy. A nation that steals our military and industrial secrets. A nation that supplied weapons and other logistical support to Bin Laden and Islamic states hostile to the US. A nation with whom we will be at war in ten years and who will use our own technology against us.

But don't tell that to the corporate Republicans who only see profits and dollars and cents at the expense of the long term national interest of the US. All they seem to be interested is in selling more Coke.

Here's one web site that may help. I haven't looked at it too much, but I did a quick search for "buy American" on Google and this came up: Click here

Well that does it. I am going to our county election officials, demand my ballot back and switch my vote for Al Gore.

I had a bit of trouble finding a non-chineeeeeeze umbrella the other day...

What really hurts is when all of the Christmas tree ornaments are made in China.

Isn't anyone in charge concerned that the US is losing, or has lost its ability to be self sufficient if everyone who didn't like us got together and declared a war?

What a bunch of ignorant people. This gets tons more US goods in to china and if we don't do it the Japanese, Koreans and EU will.

China is already dumping their slave labor goods on the US and if you want to buy their crap then that's how it works. You all act like this is going to put more of their goods on US shores when it's the other way around !

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
December 27, 2001

Statement by the Deputy Press Secretary
President Bush Grants Permanent Normal Trade Relations
Status to China

Today the President signed a proclamation granting permanent normal trading relations (PNTR) status to the People's Republic of China and terminating application of Jackson-Vanik provisions to China.  Taking effect January 1, 2002, this is the final step in normalizing U.S.-China trade relations and welcoming China into a global, rules-based trading system.  It marks the completion of more than a decade of bilateral and multilateral negotiations, and the beginning of a process of working constructively with China to help it fully implement its commitments on trade liberalization.

Congress authorized these actions subject to the President's certification that the final terms of entry for China into the WTO were at least equivalent to those agreed to bilaterally between the United States and China in 1999, and China's successful entry into the WTO.  The President certified the equivalency of the final terms on November 9, 2001; China formally became a WTO member on December 11, 2001.
