Ashcroft needs to undertake another investigation and lock up some folks.

What do you mean by "another investigation"? I'm not aware of ANY investigations Janet Ashcroft undertook to lock up ANY of the Clinton bunch. In fact,Bubba Bush has now stepped in and used a Executive Order to keep anybody else from doing this, too.

never let a dimmacrat run a war!

They were in office for WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam...., [perhaps throw in the almost WWIII- Cuba]

Seems they're not very good at prevention? Or maybe projecting strength, ala Eisenhower/Reagan/Bush/Bush.

compulsive clinton CYA-ing CONTINUES
(so does 4th-estate malfeasance)
Q ERTY6 BUMP!

Clinton's failure to grasp the opportunity to unravel increasingly organized extremists, coupled with Berger's assessments of their potential to directly threaten the U.S., represents one of the most serious foreign policy failures in American history

Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize

Bill Clinton may not be the worst president America has had, but surely he is the worst person to be president.

---GEORGE WILL, Sleaze, the sequel

Had George Will written Sleaze, the sequel (the "sequel" is, of course, hillary) after 9-11-01, I suspect that he would have had to forgo the above conceit, as the doubt expressed in the setup phrase was, from that day forward, no longer operational.

Indeed, assessing the clinton presidency an abject failure is not inconsistent with commentary coming from the left, most recently the LA Times: "Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize."

When the clintons left office, I predicted that the country would eventually learn--sadly, the hard way--that this depraved, self-absorbed and inept pair had placed America (and the world) in mortal danger. But I was thinking years, not months.

It is very significant that hillary clinton didn't deny clinton culpability for the terrorism. (Meet the Press, 12-09-01), notwithstanding tired tactics (if you can't pass the buck, spread the blame) and chronic self-exclusion. ("I knew nuttin'.")

If leftist pandering keeps the disenfranchized down by design, clinton pandering,("it's the economy, stupid"), kept the middle and upper classes wilfully ignorant for eight years.

And ironically, both results (leftist social policy and the clinton economy) are equally illusory, fraudulent. It is becoming increasingly clear that clinton assiduously avoided essential actions that would have negatively impacted the economy--the ultimate source of his continued power--actions like, say, going after the terrorists.

It is critically important that hillary clinton fail in her grasp for power; read Peggy Noonan's little book, 'The Case Against Hillary Clinton' and Barbara Olson's two books; it is critical that the West de-clintonize, but that will be automatic once it is understood that the clintons risked civilization itself in order to gain and retain power.

It shouldn't take books, however, to see that a leader is a dangerous, self-absorbed sicko. People should be able to figure that out for themselves. The electorate must be taught to think, to reason. It must be able to spot spin, especially in this age of the electronic demagogue.

I am not hopeful. As Bertrand Russell noted, "Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so. "

Mia T, hillary clinton blames hubby for terrorism

(SHE knew nuttin')

Meet the Press, 12-09-01

A Fish Rots from the Head

Investor's Business Daily

Ijaz, an admitted Clinton supporter who helped negotiate these opportunities to nab bin Laden, said, "The silence of the Clinton administration in responding to these offers was deafening."

Ijaz says that three months before bin Laden's men blew up the USS Cole in Yemen, he "brought the White House another plausible offer to deal with bin Laden, by then known to be involved in the embassy bombings(in Tanzania and Kenya)... But senior Clinton officials sabotaged the offer."

Clinton's apparent boredom with vital information extended beyond Sudanese intelligence officers to his own intelligence officers. His first CIA director, James Woolsey, couldn't get a meeting with Clinton in the two years he served. Woolsey left the Clinton administration disgusted with
its slovenly approach to national security. ...

To hear Clinton now say "We must do more to reduce the pool of potential
terrorists" is thus beyond farce. He had numerous opportunities to reduce
that pool, and he blew it.

The pool, in fact, grew larger on Clinton's watch, as he spent his final days giving pardons to drug dealers, Puerto Rican terrorists and Marc Rich, a fugitive who topped America's most-wanted list.

In this light, Clinton's order to the CIA that it not use "unsavory characters" to collect information pushes irony to its outer limits.

"Has that clinton "legacy" made you feel safer yet?"

Lest Americans ever forget why the clintons, and all their enablers need to be hectored, hounded, and harried into silence, until "clintonese is only spoken in Hell," look here:

Slowly but surely the protective cover is being eaten away. Eight disgusting years of a fawning press blocking for this weak duo is coming to an end. The Vanity Fair article, obviously has stoked the paranoia fires in the Clintonista regime, coupled with Golberg's Bias,is like a one-two combination punch.

The deluge of damage control has begun and will continue in their time honored tradition. I'm wondering if character assassination will be far behind, also in tradition. Fortunately, their hold on the press is weakening and the effectiveness of the counter spin is limited.

Many thanks to whoever flagged this in my direction.

Great post. The Tom Clancyesque depiction of a dilligent adminisration in hot pursuit as described in that bull$h!t article, certainly DOES NOT jive with Woolsey's inability to have a face to face with the Coward In Chief.

The difference between the two administrations in brief could be: Political Expediency and/or Political Advantage (CLINTOON) versus the very simple philosophy of Doing what's Right for America. (President George W. Bush)

"Thus dissolved another moment of hope in a covert war of long shots and near misses that most Americans did not yet know their country was fighting."

Absolute BS...the democrats and their media mouthpiece Gellman have no shame when it comes to re-writing history!

It's quite clear (again) from reading this first installation that the last administration did everything according to polling/opinions and not according to what was right.

Would the attacks of 9/11 have happened, had President Clinton been up to the job with which he was entrusted?

Lets see now had the USA engaged in the same type operation we are doing now immediately after the WTC bombing, after the African Emabssy bombings, after the USS Cole bombing we would be in the final stages of mop up of Al Qaeda in the last country or two holding Al Qaefa cells instead of mopping up the first target in a long string of targets.

Clearly the short answer is no. Of course WJC would have been more than willing to issue pardons had enough cash been donated to his library or wife's political campaign.

Eight pages, and they never note one glaring "coincidence" in Clinton's one day war on terror - during his eight year tenure, the only time he was sufficiently convinced that it was time to strike out at them militarily was on the eve of Monica Lewinsky's grand jury testimony.

The odds that it would fall on that day are exactly 731-1. Strange coincidence, isnt' it?

Also, it's a shame that Bin Laden was 500 miles away from the camps in Afghanistan at the time, and thousands of miles away from the innocent aspirin factory in the Sudan. I guess accuracy wasn't as important as headlines that day.

"We consumed all the intelligence we had," Albright said.

But my intelligence was really only equal to a lima bean, so we ordered pizza.

Yeah, at the guilty.

“We tried everything we could, everything we could."

Sad thing is, I believe her. She did everything she possibly could, which was never much beyond shopping in foreign countries and getting mistook for the maid.

She was the highest ranking dingbat old lady in American history, missing out on her true destiny as the neighborhood cat lady.

Which leads, yet again, to the obvious question:

Would the attacks of 9/11 have happened, had President Clinton been up to the job with which he was entrusted?

NO.
