The other comment from Turkey, and the one from Jordan are for public consumption. Both have fairly good relations with Israel, and Jordan has no love for Palestinians.

The AP seems given to hyperbole. The above quote doesn't seem to be a "lashing out." Just a rehash of the standard European position on the Israel/Palestine conflict. Then again, why should we be surprised the press is prone to generating heat more than light?
