Wow! That must have hurt! And here I am complaining that I feel like I have a stick lodged in my throat!

My eldest jedi once threw up an entire bowl of unchewed mac and cheese. Not a single toothmark in any noodle. He got a real lecture about chewing his food, after he felt better.
My third sister once sneezed after a bite of spinach and sip of milk while strategically positioned in her 12-o'clock-high chair at the end of the dinner table.
If I remember correctly, we had to clear the table and start supper all over again. Until I read about your kid's unchewed noodles, I never realized what a close call we had. (No one was hurt ... =)
So ... can you cook waffle batter like pancakes or not? Your yeast recipe looked interesting but I'm not sure I'm slated to own a waffle iron this life. =)
There's an excellent article in today's WS Journal (Link) from which I iterate two points in favor of military tribunals:
1)Do Dems think our soldiers, charging into a cave, should read the Miranda rights to any Taliban they might encounter?
2)The Al Quaeda members being held without trial are likened to POW's. The rules of war allow POW's to be held and certainly doesn't require that they be charged with a crime. (congressional and UN resolutions called the 9/11 events "acts of war"). 3)Military tribunals are the traditional venue for trying crimes against the rules of war....i.e., attacking civilians and failing to wear identifying insignia. May seem trite, but it works for me!
So there, now you're armed with all the argument you need next time you run into one of those civil liberties pantywaists. Go get 'em!
Now that the Dems have decided to be real dashholes, here are some arrows for your quiver regarding the civil liberties issues.

Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!! Not a flake here, though! Sigh!!!
In this morning's paper was an article about a local Catholic priest who recently visited Africa and the Holy Land. He was on the West Bank on 9/11. Here are some snippets (please excuse the poor writing - it's by one of our newer reporters):
While the world saw clips of Arab demonstrations filled with anti-American denunciations on television, (Father Larry) Dorsch saw nothing but kind and compassionate people. "Total strangers would come up and ask if I was an American and say, 'We want you to know how badly we feel about this. It doesn't represent our faith.' There was a real genuine sorrow among Palestinians about what happened."
He said the demonstration reported by the media was nothing but a farce. The anti-American crowd consisted of a few adults, but mostly it was children who were bribed with candy to unknowingly make a statement that few could comprehend. Dorsch said the media broadcast this isolated image around the world and many people probably got the wrong impression.
I have to say Fr. Dorsch is a bit gullible about the good nature of the Palestinians and exhibits a curious anti-Israel bias. Of course, the interview was conducted before the pedestrian mall bombings of a couple days ago, although I wonder whether that event changed his view of the compassionate Palestinians at all. He goes on:
He said he thinks the Israelis deliberately wanted to provoke the Palestinians into conflict. ... Eager for provocation, the Isralis blocked a major road leading from the Palestinian held West Bank into Jerusalem. Palestinians trying to get to their shops or trucks fille dwith goods were arbitrarily trapped in a long line of traffic, said Dorsch.
"I think they were deliberately trying to provoke these people," he said. "There is a conscious effort to drive the Palestinians from Israel."
Then my five-year-old showed up in our bed at 6:30 this morning and got sick.
Ahhh, the wonders of parenting.
THE new couple around town appears to be Bill Clinton's most loyal soldier, Bruce Lindsay, and the former president's impeachment lawyer, Cheryl Mills. The recently divorced Lindsay and Mills, who is now working for a Wall Street law firm, were together at last week's benefit dinner for the Alvin Ailey Dance group at the N.Y. Sheraton. NY Post
