Hillary and Her Afghani Lady Friend
The Today Show
Posted on 11/29/2001 3:30:45 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest
The Today Show just concluded a segment with Katie interviewing Hillary, accompanied by an Afghani woman identified as Fareeda.
The purpose was to tout Hillary's plan for women "to have a voice" and to "be at the table" in the planning of the new Afghan government.
So it's not enough for Hillary to be the most intelligent woman in the USA, saving us from our evil inclinations, "giving" us "free" health care etc. No. To truly fulfill her mission in the world, Hillary needs to be a beacon of light and hope across the globe.
So there was Hillary, in her trusty black pants suit, with Fareeda at her side. Throughout Fareeda's rather canned statement, not only did Hillary do her emphatic nodding routine, she wore a preternatural smile of warmth and approval directed at Fareeda. Eerie.

The spectacle of Hillary, this elitist American, fighting for her notion of feminism to be imposed on Afghanistan, was bizarre. Also, I'm sure if we do a little research, we'll find that Fareeda isn't some simple woman from the streets of Kabul, but a privileged person from the Afghan elites, quite possibly involved in the international feminist movement.

The Hillary and Fareeda show has now popped up on The Early Show with Bryant doing the interview. Interestingly, he asked Hillary a rather probing question: "with all the turmoil and problems facing Afghanistan, is now the time to be focusing on women's rights in particular?"

I happened to be flipping channels, so I caught part of the "interview" with HRH by little Miss Katie. Interesting, and not surprising, is that little Miss Katie did not mention the following to HRH and ask for her reaction:
"She cannot defend her own rights against her husband. How can she defend the rights of my country?"
--General Suhaila Siddiq, Afghanistan's only woman general, a surgeon, hospital director comments on Hillary Clinton.
Katie and Matt, and whatever channel they are on, continue to ignore facts and try to promote HRH. I would send them another e-mail, but I think they auto trash my e-mails by now.

Hey hillary!, our respected First Lady has already approached this issue, and she, unlike you, knows what she's talking about!

It goes against my grain to give Bryant Gumbel credit, but in fairness, when he interviewed the pair, not only did he ask the question mentioned above, he followed it up with this question to Hillary: "what would you say to those who view your actions, in seeking to impose your vision of women's rights on Afghanistan, as a form of cultural imperialism?"!!
Hillary's answer: "as I stated in 1995 [I think she was probably referring to some international women's rights convention] 'women's rights are human rights'". I guess what she means by that is that no culture or religion has the right to define a role for women that differs from Hillary's feminist world view, the one that has brought such happiness and stability to her family and countless others that have followed in her footsteps!

This deserved a double hurl alert. One for hitlery and one for "perky" Katie Communist from the Today show.

LOL! You know, when I wrote "trusty" I was confident that our vigilant FReepers would pick up on the opportunity to make the connection!

You're probably right, but I work on the assumption that any headline containing the word "Hillary" constitutes a projectile hurl alert, ipso facto!

Under the Geneva Convention, such use of cruel and unusual weapons would be considered a war crime and a crime against humanity!

Boy am I glad I watch Fox in the morning! I would have lost my coffee and everything else!
To: ozaukeemom
On a slightly serious note, although it's infuriating and almost literally sickening to watch Hillary in action, I think it is important to keep track of her activities and those of her cohorts. So I'll be glad to continue to provide this public service for the NBC/CBS/ABC-averse!

Hey Hillary, how about putting as much effort to help the families of the 5000 "fellow NY's" who were killed in cold-blood.

We know where Hillary was -- she was on the NBC TODAY show being interviewed by Little Katie Communist, her unofficial campaign manager for her run to be commander-in-chief (barf!) But the real question is: WHERE IS CHUBBIE CHELSEA? Is she in Kabul in danger, looking for a Starbucks? Waldo wants to know. Please, Little Katie Communist, HELP US FIND CHELSEA. THE SITUATION MAY BE URGENT.
