Sounds a bit like an urban legend that made the rounds about five or six years ago...

This is not an urban legend. This is based on an email received this morning from an elected member of the Ithaca School Board regarding an event that recently occurred in the Ithaca school system. He provided specific details in his message that I have not included here as to the specific school involved and an indication as to the identity of the teachers.

Hey, skepticism is good sometimes, but if you'd read what was said here, you wouldn't have to look like an idiot for saying that this looked like an urban legend. If this guy knows the school board member who reported it, how does that sound like an urban legend?

"Sounds a bit like an urban legend . . ." That's right. Stuff like this never happens in the good ol' US(S)A.
'Specially in Ithaca, NY.

Find a Christian radio station in your area that carries Jay Sekulo's (sp?) ACLJ broadcast. ACLJ - American Center for Law and Justice - has a web site - do a search. Just listen for a week or two and you will get a true earful of what is going on. NY is at the higher end of hostile in that even after some institutions have been sued successfully by the ACLJ they continue with the illegal actions that got them sued in the first place.

Things like this happen in public schools across the nation quite often. ACLJ steps up to the plate to remind schools of a students constitutional rights.
