November 25, 2001 -- The FBI is close to making the first arrests on U.S. soil directly linked to the Sept. 11 World Trade Center terror attacks, The Post has learned.

The arrests could be in New York City, possibly within days but certainly within two weeks, sources say.

These people are dedicated to the destruction of America and all it stands for. Why should we allow them to benefit from all the protections and freedoms we enjoy when that is exactly what they seek to destroy?

The atrocities of 9-11 were acts of war against our country - attacking civilians and our economy with tools of our modern culture. President Bush has declared war on terrorists and those states that support them. We are at war.

I believe the people tried before the tribunals will be treated fairly and if convicted they will be swiftly punished.

I do not believe we will utilize the tribunals to jail, convict and execute anyone off the street because their name is Achmed. I trust our military more than I trust the politicos. They know what we're fighting for and why its important.

Tank, my man, relax. This is a LEAK BY THE FBI--not meant to be kept quiet. At this point, they want the bad boys to read the story, realize that they are in deep doo-doo, and make a few desperate 'last contacts'---which will be the important ones. Further, the FBI (et al) will now watch where they go, whom they visit, and their financial transactions as they prepare to get out of Dodge.

Only foreigners can be tried by the military under the Bush order.

If these are foreigners who came here to do harm to this country, I have no problem whatsoever with a military trial for them.

My preference, however, would be for them to be flown to Israel and turned over to the Mossad.
