Sunday Nov. 18, 2001; 2:01 p.m. EST Laura Bush Zings Hillary Laura Bush seems to be coming into her own as first lady -- especially in contrast to her predecessor. Not only does a new poll show her outshining Hillary Clinton, but in little noticed remarks last week, the demure Texan actually made fun of Mrs. Clinton's megabucks book deal. Addressing the National Press Club about the fears she'd experienced since Sept. 11, Mrs. Bush took time out for some comic relief with this answer to a question about whether she intended to write a book about her experience. "I guess it'll be whether or not I can get that $8 million advance." The audience roared with laughter. The rest of America also seems to appreciate the new first lady's light touch after Hillary's eight years of power grabbing and money grubbing. 56 percent of those surveyed told a Fox News Dynamics poll that Bush fits the image of what a first lady should be. Only 26 percent said Hillary lived up to their ideal. And in more bad news for Sen. Clinton, the Fox survey shows her favorability rating actually going down in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Though she's been on TV more often than ever before, touting her efforts to help New York City recover, her favorability rating has slid to just 44 percent. That's a twelve point decline from Mrs. Clinton's January high of 56 percent.

Laura Bush reads her Radio Address from Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas. Mrs. Bush is the first First Lady to deliver an entire Presidential Radio Address.
Did you catch Fox News Sunday this morning? Mara Liasson, commenting about Laura Bush's radio address yesterday, said something like "Can you imagine the reaction if Hillary Clinton had attempted this?" I think it was Brit Hume who retorted "Well, Laura Bush is not trying to be a co-President. Remember the phrase "Buy one, get two???"
Yes, she must be absolutely ripped about that.
HaHaHaHaHa!
White Trash is still White Trash, whether it is in New York or Arkansas. I just wonder if they have been able to get the stench out of the White House yet.
How about Florence Nightingale, too? More concerned about others than herself and determined to help and make a difference. Of course, the nurse analogy fits, too, Mrs. Bush is like tonic to the soul after the hell our country's been through for eight years.
Dangies...that makes Hillary only 1 percent more "favorable" than the media at 43 percent.LOL! Yes! (You saw my post about that just recently???) LOL!
I remember thinking the night of the election (that was actually November, not the ensuing months during which a coup was occurring), how proud I would be to have Mrs. Bush be our First Lady, what a lady she truly is, such class, so intelligent and kind. The eyes are the mirror to the soul. Mrs. Bush's soul is the antithesis of Hitlery's and in contrast to that phony, it is as white as snow.
Here's Hillary answering a really tough question.LOL!:
God Bless her.
The clintons are filth. Now, there's the word.
2. "Though she's been on TV more often than ever before, touting her efforts to help New York City recover, her favorability rating has slid to just 44 percent." Perhaps this should read "Because she's been on TV more . . . her favorability rating has slid." The better you know her, the less you like her.
Ol 'Lady Klinton aint' got nun o' them kwallitees.
'A turd in the punchbowl' defines HILLARY!
Remember the press and the discussion of GRAVITAS? Well, guess who has it? Gulp...now over to you Larry..........
