Arming yourself with the latest information is half the battle. Sounds like you are doing a good job of finding out about treatments for the tumor.
I live close to Duke University. That's suppose to be a good center for cancer treatment too. Good luck to you and your family.
I'll be thinking about you over the holidays.

Prayers continue, Mister!
We had a good friend at church who went through something like this.....similar but different.....and writing emails to his friends with detailed explanations of what he was going through helped him AND the rest of us.
....Starting in to this, he had thinning unruly hair.......and knowing he was going into chemo. he decided to shave it and be done with it.
...now the therapy is over.............he's well again..........and he has grown the cutest, darkest, curliest hair.
...Everyone says he looks Italian now :^)
Three more thoughts........
...Let go & let God.
...and..."But hope that is seen is no hope at all.
Who hopes for what he already has?
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."
..."For nothing is impossible with God..."

Add a pin in Mequon, Wisconsin (that's just north of Milwaukee, on the Lake). Sorry that MD Anderson didn't work for you. They are good people there, but there are good people at lots of hospitals.

Put one of those pins or tacks in for Emmett, ID brother, right ouside Boise, to the North and West.
Our lives are in God's hands. We are all His children come to earth and will one day return. His will for us, and the plan He has for us is the most critical information we can derive and determine while on this earth. Once determined, other circumstances pale in comparison.
Our prayers are that His will for you will be manifest and that you and yours will be blessed by that knowledge and assurance ... come what may.
Keep the faith, keep pluggin ... you're an inspiration to all that hear of your story ... not because you have any kind of a teflon coating against it (in reality, no one does), but because of the very humanity of it, the questions, the striving ... and most of all the perserverance and faith. That is an example and a heritage to pass on to all.
God's best you you and yours my friend.

This information leads me to ponder some thoughts. I'm wondering why this device wasn't recommended to us already? Just because the device isn't currently available locally doesn't mean we won't go anywhere necessary to get me the best treatment. I think many of you can read between the lines of these threads and recognize how much research my wife and I are doing to fight this disease. Given how much research my wife and I are doing and how many questions we're asking, it's scary to think how many opportunities might not come up during discussions with our doctors simply because we haven't asked the right question. Ugh.You have come to the realization that I also faced in my medical struggle. Even if you have to physically restrain that doctor from leaving the room before you can think of the question to ask, do it. You may not ask the right question, but ask it anyway because you never know where it will lead and it may actually lead to the right question eventually.
You can add a pin from a little town about 40 miles north of Dallas. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Hang in there, don't give up, and don't rely on the doctors to tell you what there is to know. You and your wife are doing the right things. Keep doing them.

I'm praying for you! Stick a pin in Pittsfield, Illinois. Please check out this new development: Microscopic 'smart bomb' kills cancer cells.
A microscopic cancer "smart bomb" powered by a single radioactive atom is able to find and kill tumor cells in laboratory experiments. Researchers hope to test the technique on human patients next year.

Thanks for the update---sometimes, getting too many opinions and balancing them can get confusing in itself. Listen to your gut-feelings as they are usually correct.
Put a little pin in the heart of Texas for me--just a scose NW of Austin.
