Beijing produces videos glorifying terrorist attacks on 'arrogant' US

THE Chinese state-run propaganda machine is cashing in on the terror attacks in New York and Washington, producing books, films and video games glorifying the strikes as a humbling blow against an arrogant nation.

Video discs filled with lurid images along with dramatic opera music and even the theme from Jaws have flooded the nation's markets in the wake of the attacks.

Disc after disc bear the imprimatur of the Communist Party-controlled media. The most popular DVDs have been produced by the Xinhua information agency, Beijing Television and China Central Television.

Communist Party officials say President Jiang Zemin has obsessively watched and re-watched pictures of the aircraft crashing into the World Trade Centre. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, workers at Beijing Television worked round-the-clock to produce a documentary they called Attack America.

Scenes from Hollywood films have been spliced between shots of the events of September 11, including footage from the 1998 remake of Godzilla, in which a monster destroys New York buildings.

As rescue workers pick through the rubble of the twin towers, the commentator proclaims that the city had reaped the consequences of decades of American bullying of weaker nations.

He said: "This is the America the whole world has wanted to see. Blood debts have been repaid in blood. America has bombed other countries and used its hegemony to deny the natural rights of others without paying the price. Who until now has dared to avenge the hurts inflicted by unaccountable Americans."

Officials at Beijing Television defended the video as an educational film that will meet market demand. A producer said: "There's this need for more information on world terrorism in the market, so we've got to meet it."

At the country's most respected bookstore, Xinhua Book Shop on Beijing's busiest shopping street, Wanfujing, crowds jockeyed around a table to buy discs. According to staff, thousands of copies of the video have been sold in the past month.

The shop assistant said: "Before people were interested in the movies but this is more compelling. What happened in New York could have happened in a movie but this is real life. It's better."

The many shops that stock pirated DVDs compiled in China and Hong Kong report that their most popular products are similar productions that use video graphics to show the United States suffering other damaging attacks on its tallest buildings and military installations.

On the unofficial films the commentary is even more callous: "Look at the panic in their faces as they wipe off the dust and crawl out of their strong buildings - now just a heap of rubble. We will never fear these people again, they have been shown to be soft-bellied paper tigers."

Elsewhere music shops are selling out of a bootleg version of the summer's top pop hit. The amended song implies that America deserves to suffer for its disregard for the point of view of countries weaker than itself.

The refrain says: "We guys are all Americans, our government is used to bullying people. We guys always have our hands on too much, this time our own people got hurt."

Sadly I have no doubt that we will keep trading with these scumbags.

Political correctness and greed will be the downfall of this country.

Since many Chinese people worked in the WTC, and thus died along with the "foreign devil" Americans, they are either immoral automatons or just don't give a shit about anyone, including their own. At any rate, trading with these sons of bitches is not only detrimental to our economic and domestic industrial infrastructure, but suicidally stupid militarily and strategically. The Chinese only mouth this idiocy because they believe we will do nothing whatsoever in retaliation. I however would. And, trade with them would be the first thing to go.

This kind of crap illustrates the degree of envy and resentment these nations have toward the United States.
What a bunch of losers.
This of course goes with the territory when you are number one in the world.

Of course if we want to celebrate the slaughter of innocent Chinese civilians we wouldn't have to look at attacks from outsiders...since the Chinese government has caused far more suffering for the Chinese than any outsiders ever could.

By the way, how many container ships full of Americans do we see desperately trying to sneak into China?
None. They are trying to come here.
They KNOW the U.S. is the best nation on the face of the earth..and they are jealous.

When the Three Gorges Dam goes for that long ride down the Yangtze river, will that be pay back for the tyranny of Chinese communism? Either way, they're sure to have mud on their little commie red faces, and I'll be enjoying the every minute of it.

BUMP

Bush and Powell and Rice and senior Repubs and Democrats are absolute fools and treasonous harlots to give China most favored nation treatment in trade , to prop them up economically, and to aide their military with military exchanges and for selling them Black Hawk helicopters and military parts for the helicopters.

China is out to destroy the US along with the terrorists Muslims in the Arab nations. China has been helping Iraq and Bin Laden for years.

Bush and Powell want world government at all costs even if it means the destruction and subjugation of the US. In this regard they are no better than Clinton and Gore.

Xinhua Homepage

There's a "E-mail" button in the upper right corner of the linked page, so you can let Xinhua know what you think of them. Don't forget, "you sick twisted pig--------" should be in all caps so the nice people at Xinhua can understand exactly what you're saying.

I agree with above statement, but our legislators are responsible for helping this to happen.

I say this because: Our legislators passed laws that fishermen could not use certain nets and now frozen fish is being imported from China.

I could not believe it last week when I was going to buy a package of frozen perch and I always look to see where it was packaged. Guess what...It was processed in China...I left the fish in the store.

--would you have a working link? thanks

shrub was just over there, standing shoulder to shoulder with his good 'free trade" pals. So which is it, what's the politically correct stance here now? Oh, wait a minnit, I forget, the chinese are good guys because they will..uhh.. help...uhh..bases...uhh overflights...uhhh, well, NOTHING, but he's gonna stand shoulder to shoulder with them. rah rah rah, go team!

china has always been a threat, I hope some day the state department figures it out, and someone clues in shrub to it as well. And the technology transfers? All "clintons fault"/ nada, more like international companies in almost everyones stock portfoluio 401k plans, that's who develops the tech and transfers it to china. Probably dozens of them on this forum, too. clinton was a politician, he doesn't develop or sell anything. Clinton was a scumbag for sort of allowing it to happen, after being bribed by BOTH china, and certain international companies, ya know, good ole regular ole 'murican white guys in suits. Profits. Double speak from the actors on wallstreet and in washington, bs walks, but cash talks, it's business as usual.

So, waiting for the true believers to excuse this admins moves in china, besides, "oh, they got moslems, too". Phooie. china could wipe them out if they were a real threat, who would stop them or give a care? No one. Profits. oil, manufacturing, drugs, humongous arms contracts, ad infinitum, the "bottom line"

Agendas hidden underneath newsbytes, factions around cartels. Global two class elites versus everyone else, that's the reality of this situation.

Boycott China

One of the weapons no doubt.

The Chinese are like Muslims. They claim they are for peace and love and liberty and freedom, but in reality you have a "Those that Harbor Them" problem.

It is wrong to tolerate many Muslims because many Muslims tolerate jihad. Equally as important, do we see many Muslims crying for the Bill of Rights and Constitution to be followed? Do we know masses of Muslims prepared to die for the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Do we see this small subset of Constitution loving Muslims actively purging the USA of the 10’s of thousands of jihadist leaning Muslims among us?

About the Chinese. As an American, I am morally bound to hate Beijing's Commies. Why would I economically support the 1 billion Chinese that harbor them.

Time to start now to prepare to win decisively the coming conflict with China.

Bin Laden declared war on America and he followed through on his declaration many times, most devastatingly on 9/11. He must and will be destroyed.

All ChiCom strategic planning is based on one objective: a war to devastate and humble the US. The ChiComs must and will be destroyed. Believe me, just like after 9/11, we'll soon have NO OTHER CHOICE.

Who cares what a bunch of filthy savages do?

We do. Or certainly should.
These filthy savages have nuclear weapons.
And the concept of hegemony which is as alien to us as the Martian language.

This is the reason retribution should have been swift, massive and unequivocal, starting Sept. 12.
The world is a strange place, and China is not the only country which believes that the U.S. is really as helpless as the Muslim Mass Murders suggests.
If we can't instill respect, then we must promote fear.
Unequivocal fear, and the willingness to promote it.
Not just enough fear for our enemies not to act out their fantasies.
Enough to make our friends feel fear. Without any doubt. The only question is shall we capitulate? or find the resolve to do it? It's not a question of having the capacity.

This is extremely grave news. It shows their fear of us is fading. Not only that, but they don't even care that we know it.

This kind of provocation is unlike the Chinese. As much as they oppose us, they have never in the recent past, to my knowledge, engaged in anything this outwardly inflamitory. They have almost always been, with the recent exception of the spy plane ordeal, rather concilitory in word and deed. Though, two faced and disgenuine, at least they, in the past, made an effort. The Chinese have clearly entered a new era and are gearing their propaganda for the future.

I have seen a few of Hitler's movies from before the war. They treated the Jews much like this. The Nazis used them to demonize and dehumanize the Jewish people in an effort instill hatred of the Jews in the German populace. Failing that, to, at least, condition the German people not to notice, resist or care about the upcoming atrocities. This is an extremely bad omen.
