A plane in North Carolina in Monroe just dumped a blanket of white powder over a daycare center.Not joking here..breaking on NC News station FOX 18

Depends on what they're growing. Winter wheat, maybe? I was just down in W. Memphis Arkansas last week and they were spraying there, so there are certain crops that get it on into fall.

A REAL anthrax release from an airplane would NOT NOT NOT result in a white powder on the ground. It would disperse quickly and would be totally invisible. The release would become known only when infections began showing up in the hundreds.

You seem to be confusing reporting something with panicking. It is possible to do something other than bury your head in the sand without it being considered panicking. If there was a car accident, you would probably accuse the person calling 911 of panicking, or the person who observed it and said something to their friend at the office of panicking. Discussing something is not panicking my friend. You are a little too proud of your self-proclaimed status as "the calm one," and your silly charges that others are panicking when they aren't merely makes you look ridiculous.

Why are we allowing any light aircraft to fly without special dispensation?

Because this is The United States of America and, if I remember correctly, we still have the right to freedom of travel, including privately piloted aircraft. Let's not turn this into China where all private pilots need to submit flight plans to the gubmint for approval. Bad idea.
