Let's Restore Medina to the Jews
The Dhimmi (Jews and Christians under Islam) | 1980 (French) 1985 (Translation to English) | Bat Ye'or

Posted on 10/27/2001 6:33:03 AM PDT by ml/nj

From Chapter 1, Historical Outline:

In the year 622, on the invitation of the Ansar - a group of pagans converted to Islam - Muhammad and his small band of followers left Mecca for Yathrib (Medina). The population then consisted of polytheistic clans, of Jewish tribes that had long been established in Arabia, and Arabs converted to Judaism. ...

The arrival of Muhammad and his followers provoked no opposition from the Jews. ...

In 624 Muhammad, joined by more followers, called upon the Qaynuqa, one of the Jewish tribes of Medina, to recognize his prophetic mission. When they refused, he besieged and overcame them. On the intercession of one of their protectors - a recent convert to Islam - their lives were spared, but they were expelled from the city, their lands and a part of their possessions being confiscated by the Muslims. The following year the Jewish Nadir tribe suffered a similar fate: Muhammad burned down their palm groves and divided all their fields and houses among the community of Believers. [footnote]

In 627 the Meccans sent a united force to lay siege to the Muslims in Medina, but they withdrew suddenly on a stormy night without fighting. However, guided by the angel Gabriel, Muhammad then turned his host against the Jewish tribe of the Qurayza who had been neutral during the seige. Because the Jews refused conversion, Muhammad attacked and overwhelmed them. Trenches were then dug in the marketplace of Medina, and the Jews - six to nine hundred of them, according to traditional Muslim sources - were led forth in batches and decapitated. All the menfolk perished in this way, with the exception of one convert to Islam. The Prophet then divided the women, children, houses, and chattels among the Muslims.[footnote]

... In 628, taking advantage of a treaty of nonbelligerency (Hudaybiya) with the Meccans[footnote], he attacked the oasis of Khaybar, one hundred and forty kilometers northwest of Medina, cultivated by another Jewish tribe. The assailants came to the oasis at night and in the morning attacked the peasants as they were coming out to work in the fields, carrying spades and baskets.[footnote] Their palm groves were burned down. After a siege lasting month and a half, the inhabitants surrendered under the terms of a treaty known as the dhimma. According to the agreement Muhammad allowed the Jews to continue cultivating their oasis, on the condition that they ceded to him half of their produce; he also reserved the right to break the agreement and expel them whenever he wished.[footnote] Subsequently, all the Jewish and Christian communities of Arabia submitted to the Muslims under the terms of a dhimma similar to that granted at Khaybar. ...

Perhaps you are unwanted there, or do you think that you have the right of access anywhere?

An interesting concept. We should start applying it immediately to the psychopaths they've sent to infest this country

all they need is a "Happy Meal" and they would all fall into submission. It worked over here.

New markets for high tech are China and South America

Ah, but what you seem to think of as "high-tech" isn't exactly what I had in mind. What I was thinking about was more along the line of innovative technology. But high-tech ("traditional") isn't going away, even if the competition is there. If your Arabs are saying that "there's competition, ergo we can't do it", they're dead. And not in the terribly long run either.

Clearly you don't know what Urea or sulfer

Fertilizer comes from a few sources - animal/bird waste, or is produced by throwing some energy at some air. I'm guessing that most, if not all of Saudi's production is animal waste.

rude than any exhange of information.

Well, you don't have much information to exchange, do you? I asked you about tech industry in Saudi, and your answer is that technology is outmoded and that I'm snotty :)).

1945 - Feb. 23 - Turkey and Egypt declare war against Axis.

How timely!

Further- none of the "prophet's" words were even written down until 150 years after his death.

No- I don't think I should have access to anywhere. Perhaps we should reconsider our policies of access to our country to the people of Islam. Funny- all these muslems demanding respect and tolerance for their "religion" and yet there is none for Christians or Jews in Islamic lands.

Gee- yeah. Wih less than a whole month to go in the war. What would we have done if not for the war effort contributions of Mighty Turkey and Eygpt against NAzi Germany? Hitler himself- a virulent anti Christian- had nothing but praise for Islam as a religion for men. Coward nations all- just as they attack on Yom Kippur they now demand we restrain ourselves during their Ramawhocares false festival. The cooperation of Islam with Nazi germany is well documented.

Bull's-eye! (I always wondered why I always liked the Muslims so much.)

Lol. What do they make in Saudi then?

Pilots, who don't need to know how to take off or land. Bonus, if they are dexterous with box cutters.

Very nice.

Astonished, who always lies, who always gets caught, who always gets booted and who always returns to lie again.

Lies like her heroes (Arafat, Saudis, et al): always, blatantly and without shame.

Don't waste your time on this cyber pest. It's best just to ignore his ranting and ravings. I have frequently seen his non-sequitars masquerading as a reasoned post, and have ignored it, just as one would ignore a loud mouthed ignoramous at a party. Trying to reason with him, and others of his ilk, is hopeless, just as they are.

Return Medina to the Jews? Fine, but let's get our priorities straight. First we replace the kaaba in Mecca with a hog slaughterhouse, a sewage treatment plant, a dog cemetary, a zoo, and garbage dump.

They already harbor a fanatical hatred of the USA, so what harm could it do? Maybe they'll think allah left town, relax, and get back to goat husbandry or whatever.

The policies of Isreal are a chimera issue used by authoritarian and theocratic Islamic nations to divert their people's attention away from there own corrupt and brutal rule. Much as the old Soviet Union used "enemies of the people" and foreign "imperialism" to justify their criminal rule so do the various Arab nations rail against the "jew"- meanwhile their people languish in poverty and ignorance.

Great analogy.

If you really want to stop the ethnic cleansing business and make the world a safe place for our children, you'll be sure to see the need to crush Islam.

Speaking of ethnic cleansing, in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, which groups charter plainly states their goal of eliminating the other group?

Really gives you an impression of Muhammed being such a "peaceful kind of man". He was a freaking militant. Of course, I know I will be told a million more times about Islam meaning "peace". Yep, about as peaceful as Muhammed, huh??
