I wanted to repeat what Interesting Times said because he/she said exactly what I wanted to say. I just want to add that you're too humble. Firefighters are heroes every day who some don't appreciate until they need them.
Also please tell anyone you know who was or still is involved in the WTC rescue/cleanup: there are many Americans out here who think of and pray for them daily. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

My wife & I were watching here in the Tar Heel State (N. Carolina). We were very proud of you & your brothers when you appeared on stage that night.
Although my wife was born in S.Africa, her grandmother was Irish (Dublin) and she still has a valid Irish passport.
She lurks here on FR & really got a charge out of your now-famous "Royal Irish A$$" comment.
I heard you on Rush and was 100% in agreement w/ your comments about Hillary.
Also, my condolences and prayers for your brother and your fellow firemen.

WELCOME MIKE! I didn't watch the concert, but I heard you when you were on Rush. LOVED you comments about #97! She's such a phoney, and she showed her true colors the night of Pres. Bush's speech to the nation. The event wasn't serving HER purposes, so she was bored and restless. I LOVED the fact that she got BOOED at the concert; man, was that justice!
Please know that we all mourn the death of your brother and his fellow firemen, as well as the police and EMT's who gave the 'last full measure of devotion' and saved countless lives on 9/11.
And as a previous poster said, the fact that you were standing by ANN will make a lot of these Freeper guys GREEN with envy!!

Maybe you can talk some of the other firefighters into joining the Free Republic too.
They definitely have a home here. One more thing, there has been talk about unexplained sicknesses among the firefighters and other workers who worked at ground zero.
If any of the guys are suffering from unexplained illnesses, this forum is a good place to air any health problems.
