This evening I had dinner at an Indian (Hindu) restaurant in Montclair, New Jersey. During the meal, several people at our table were discussing pictures of the World Trade Center (pre-9/11) that were on display at a framing gallery next door. When we left the restaurant, I decided to check the pictures out for myself. It was a wonderful tribute: an American flag surrounded by four or five balck and white posters and photographs of the twin towers taken from different angles, some during the day, some at night.
Then something surreal happened. As we started to walk toward our car, three Arab men in their early 20s passed us. I am no expert in ethnic identity, but I am absoltely sure the men were Arab and definitely not Indian or hispanic. They were speaking to each other in their native tongue. As they walked past the storefront with the pictures of the WTC, one of the men looked at the pictures and then said something to his friends to draw their attention to the pictures. Then the three of them bursted out laughing and walked away. My blood boiled and I shouted at them. I think my words were, "Hey, you think that's funny, you f*#%ing Arabs?" They just waled along, oblivious to me. It was a sad and chilling experience.
You misunderstood my admittedly poorly-written sentence. I meant, law enforcement can do their job just fine without private individuals yelling and cursing at them.
You said it well.
How weird! Just night before last my college professor daughter (very liberal) made that very last gasping sound. Her biggest fear these days is not anthrax or Arab men. Her biggest fear is McCARTHYISM! Sigh...where did I go wrong?
I would like to see an "adopt" a "mudlum" movement.
As the patriots(like Thomas Jefferson) who formed this country wanted us to continue their guardianship of this great country by making us part of the "militia",I think it would be a good idea at the present time in our history with all that is going on,to start tailing these people EVERYWHERE!!!!! Take a camera, notepad, and what ever other record keeping device needed, and start trailing them from the time they leave their driveway, till they return.Get addresses, tag #'s,where they work, pray and eat and sleep, and the same for anyone they meet or see while enjoying their Americanized "Mudlum" lifestyle.
If enough people started tailing these folks around (24-7 if possible)it might let them know that their incognito livestyle here no longer works like it did before 9-11-2001.
If they are not "misbehaving"it wouldn't take long to see if they are not worth "watching",but if they are "misbehaving"...the information would be invaluable to the proper people, saving them a lot of leg work and time.It would also spread the word to the other"evil-dooers"that our nation has it's eyes and ears on..... I wouldn't tail all of them, but I would damn sure start with the ones laughing while looking at a WTC display......and the ones that can't or WON'T speak English when you try to talk to them......
You don't have to tell me about being profiled -- I am a black man. But I don't blame anyone for doing so because black men commit violent crime in proportion greater than their percentage of the population. Black pop culture in great measure celebrates crime, and as long as that image continues to sell, nothing will change.
If you were not talking about interning American citizens, you should have specified that in your first response to me, because I was responding to WileyCoyote22, who was -- and still is -- talking about Americans. For that matter, so is HKUSP9mm, who posted to Baltimore-born Hamza01 the following message: "You're on enemy ground, pal. Know it."
Really? Do me a favor -- cut and paste everything he's posted that led you to say he "talks like he is a foreigner."
Hamza was being cordial with you and you replied with tacit threats based on your prejudices, not what he actually said. That's the reason I asked you to detail his statements that made you say he talked "like a terrorist" and "a foreigner" -- because you couldn't do it with any degree of credibility.
