"School is not an open forum,"

What's that Constitution for, again?

"School is not an open forum," the principal said. "It is a place for learning."

As the principal announces next assembly speaker is going to be from Planned Parenthood.

Walk through the metal detector, stand in line while the Vice Principal goes through your backpack, walk down the hall under the eye of the security cameras to the office where you pee in a cup in order to join FBLA. At lunch, go home and take off your shirt because the Principal doesn't like it. After lunch, go in for a random strip search while they have the drug dogs sniff your locker. You should finish in time to go into Civics class and learn all about how wonderful it is for you live in a free country where liberty reigns supreme.

Is it ANY WONDER our kids are cynical?

Somebody needs to remind those mouthy liberal traitor professors of that then.

I bet if the T-shirts had NAAPC or a multi-colored African Continent on them it would be fine.

Some of the last real Americans stood up for states rights and freedom 140 years ago, against overwhelming odds. If today's Americans understood freedom as they did, we would not let mushy headed girlymen take over our country. I say, let the stars and bars be honored in all our communities from Maine to California. It is as much a herald of freedom as the star spangled banner.

HEY SUCKMASTER!

Way to fake us all out with your altered headline. Why did you take out the word "Confederate?"
What're you tryin' to hide, Dude? Were you just trying to get more hits on your post or what?
Cheap shot.

I know it's their choice to protest the way they want to. But in the name of unity for a change, I wish they chose Old Glory for a year. Oh well. [sigh.]

This was taken from the ACLU's website a week ago. It isn't there now. Guess this issue isn't important huh??

"In our system, state-operated schools may not be enclaves of totalitarianism. School officials do not possess absolute authority over their students. Students in school as well as out of school are 'persons' under our Constitution." -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas, Tinker v. Des Moines School District (1969

I doubt any of their great-grandfathers fought in the civil war. I'm 21 now, and all my great-grandparents were born between 1899 and 1912. Great-great-great-grandfather may be more appropriate for this age group.

You wonder why? Some have pretty good reasons.

"School is not an open forum," the principal said. "It is a place for learning."

If there is no open forum in school, there is no learning, just indoctrination.

The war on Southern Heritage continues.

What would have been the response of the principal if the students showed up wearing

Gay Pride

tee-shirts instead of the Confederate flag?

Many of us are proud of the Confederate flag, and find the notion of "gay pride" repulsive.

I suspect that the school would find a "gay pride" tee-shirt preferable to an American flag shirt.

"School is not an open forum," the principal said. "It is a place for learning."

So take down the posters advocating the gay lifestyle.
Stop teaching the kids fisting, abortion, earth worship.
I agree, let's start teaching kids to READ and WRITE again.

If the principal was really concerned with the education of these students, he would have marched them down to the gym and issued them PE shirts to wear for the remainder of the day.
