Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Don't be. After all, shouldn't we all pray for each other ... especially our spiritual leaders?
No. I'm just not a sports fan. I guess you guys are not salvation fans:)

I don't know about that, but I once learned on a PBS special about earthquakes that, what with the San Andreas fault and everything, in a mere 100 million years or so the Dodgers and Giants will again be cross town rivals.

Yep, Basilides really did bug out on that one, didn't he? Here I was thinking he'd been hit by a bus or something. But no, he dropped his participation in the threads rather than 'pay up' on the wager. When he popped in here a month or so ago, we both called him on it quickly, and he just as quickly scampered out of here again!
I must admit I'm disappointed in him.
Oh, I know.
At this rate ... a very, very long time. ;o)
Well it took the Packers 30 years to get from 13 to 14 on the championship total. Jones won't likely be around that long, so there is hope! In any case, your salary cap issues will be resolved over the next few years.
Sounds like a Texan pronunciation. Like 'oil' is awl.
And I thought it was ugly in here on Sunday! Sheesh!!! ;o)
The Colorado Broncos? Yech. Call me a traditionalist, but I like the team names with the city better. I remember when the Rockies expansion franchise was announced. I was living in New Mexico at the time, and I specifically remember them calling the team the 'Denver Rockies' (along with the 'Miami Marlins').
We can only hope. He has his sons lined up to take over if/when he ever bugs out.

Boy, I'm fixin' to open a can o' whoop a** on you! ;o)
Seriously ... if you think Texans are bad, you ought to try to listen to an Okie.
The birthplace of Rolling Rock; the birthplace of pro football. It does have a certain symmetry to it. Was Rolling Rock a sponsor for the 1895 Latrobe team?
Not exactly. The hallmark of a southern accent is the drawing out and insertion of syllables. In Pittsburgh we drop useless ones. The "th" simply vanishes from names like "South Side."

It is also among the towns claiming to have "invented" the banana split. But Latrobe Brewing has only been around since the early 1900s, with the Rolling Rock name being coined in 1913(?). Something like that.

I don't believe there is an official Church position.

Oh, I know.
