Beautiful.

Excellent. Crisis Magazine is one of the few I subscribe to, along with First Things, Catholic World Report, and a couple of others.

Also offensive at " Christian " hospitals is when they expect you to accept their offer to " tie the tubes" after the baby is delivered.

Hello to the East Coast Warrior: Victim Soul. Beautiful story here, and an intriguing title for their upcoming book, about rethinking contraception. I wholeheartedly agree with the late great Fr. Hardon that abortion cannot be reversed in this country until all Christians reject contraception, as they did up until 1930. Is this book a harbinger of an awakening to the true nature of each and every marriage act?

Thanks for a wonderful post. In fact and in truth, the baby-killers aren't into "choice" - they're into killing as many babies as possible. I wouldn't want to be one of them when they stand before a Holy God and the subject of killing His babies comes up...

This happened to my wife and I. We were expecting the question. My wife said, "I don't want amniocentisis. We'll take what we get."
The nurse turned her back to us, wiped her eyes, and turned back around with her eyes still wet. I guess she doesn't hear that too often.

An obstetrician once made the mistake of recommending this test to my wife who was carrying our fourth child, since our third child had Down Syndrome. She proceeded to excoriate him with a magestic, unbridled fury that was a sight to behold. He never did that to us again.
I would have had no compunction at all about telling that bag of human vomit called an obstetrician in the story that she had "terminated her mother's pregnancy" by being born, and to get the h**l out of the room before I called the police.
Cordially,

This is beautiful. We've got to get our moral bearings back..the thought that abortion has become so common place in the US that this scene would happen in a Christian aflliiated hospital is an abomination.

To tell the truth, I have no objection to taking the test itself -- in fact, I have had the test performed twice myself. It is what happens AFTER the test that concerns me.
We here on FR have all seen the miraculous photographs of baby Samuel, who had corrective surgery performed IN UTERO to fix his spina bifida -- presumably after his mother had undergone an Alpha Fetal Protein test and amniocentisis. It is for this reason that I'd go ahead and have the tests again, should God grant me the boon of another child -- because today, there ARE some things that can be fixed. But we have to be aware that there's something wrong before we can fix it.
Unfortunately, it seems that many parents are unwilling to deliver less-than-perfect children, and take advantage of the information they receive from these tests. I don't know how to fix that problem -- it is a problem of the soul, and it is very, very sad.
Needless to say, it wouldn't matter to me one bit what the results of an AFP or amnio were. Any baby that's growing inside me is going to be deliverd, come Hell or High Water.

I read it with joy for their understanding but also with fear and trepidation for the baby and them - what if
? So the answer, as my wife frequently reminds me is, as always, God gives Christians grace when, not before, we need it.
Thanks to RnMomof7 for this and other heads-up.
