IRVING, Tex., Sept. 14. Two Men with box cutters, hair dye and a large amount of cash who were seized by federal authorities on an Amtrack train in Fort Worth on Wednesday remained in custody today for immmigration violations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said....
The authorities confirmed that the two men were flying to San Antonio from Newark when their plane made a stopover in St. Louis on Tuesday. After federal officials halted air traffic in response to Tuesday's hijackings, the men continued by train toward San Antonio until they were taken into custody during a routine drug patrol, officials said.

Late Friday, NBC's Pete Williams reported that the FBI considers this a potentially huge lead.

If we had outlawed box cutters this tragedy would never have happened.

Gimme a break. Posting Information that has appeared in the NY Times and on NBC NEWS is not unpatriotic. If I understand what you're saying, your construction of "Loose Lips Sinks Ships" would necessitate a complete governmental control of the media. Sorry, terrorists cannot have my freedoms.

Ok, I apologize. You are right about that, and it IS a warning worth reminding everyone about.

All future airline meals to be eaten with sporks only. Let's see someone hold up a plane's crew with a pronged spoon!Which means that all airline food will be provided by Kentucky Fried Chicken, the world leader in spork-related food service.
I will gladly put up with 3 hour check-in if the reward is a big bucket of extra crispy chicken.
PS Sporks don't kill people. People trained in the art of spork-to-spork combat kill people.

Is that a box-fed fully automatic box cutter?

i felt safer when i could at least carry my folding knives on board in my briefcase. add airplanes to the list of places we are stripped completely naked of our right to self defense. i'm flying myself from here on out.

Of course, we shouldn't ban sporks that are used for HUNTING purposes. But we should immediately implement a COMPLETE ban on "assault" sporks.

How will air travelers get around the three day waiting period?

The news reports that I saw tonight said that fingernail clippers, cuticle scissors, and plastic dinner knives would be confiscated at the security checkpoint. If we are really so passive that someone could hijack a plane using fingernail clippers, then we are already lost. Effective action to increase security is a good thing, but this nonsense is making things more dangerous by encouraging us to be more passive in the face of evil.

America's response has Already Started.

I dont think anyone will ever be passive again! Prior to 5 days ago when you thought of Hijacking you thought of a long wait on the tarmac with the pilot yelling out demands from the window.
Now if anyone tries to Hijack a plane again they will have to face 20 men who would rather die then be slammed into a public building.
I know I would.

And what, pray tell, were they hoping to hit from San Antonio? The Crawford ranch? NASA? The Dallas Cowboys? The Clinton Library? Seriously, after you've hit WTC and the Pentagon, what's there to hit in Texas that would make the same sort of political statement?
Of course, it could have been the only bomb the Cowboys would catch this season...
To: WFTR
that's what i'm saying. to be honest, i'd rather all the ccp, trained and law-abiding, honest firearms owners wouldn't leave their piece in the suv when they go to the aiport and rather make my flight safer. unreal.
