The Confederate Airforce's Airpower Heritage Museum has opened a nose art preservation operation aimed at preserving the nose art from WWII fighters and bombers.
I recognize a couple of the pieces as one's they now have and are trying to preserve.
They are the only one's to my knowlege that are doing anything like this.

Good morning Everyone. Good morning to our
Military, our Allies and their families.
Thanks Star for your hardwork on preparing today's thread. I think a little history in Nose Art is really a nice idea. A nice look to the thread, too. But, I was wondering if this would be considered nose art?
Actually, I would like to offer up my picture for anyone needing a pinup for their plane. So, please feel free to use it with my permission. I'd love the exposure.
Well, here we are back at Monday and I am working from home again since the weather forecast is more snow. Just about all of the last snow has melted in our area, so if we get more it won't be too bad.
I can see by all the post so far that some people must just be going to bed. Now, since it will take a while to read over 250 posts, I'm going to post and run. Plus, I need to check in with my office to let them know that I will be working at home.
Now remember, the Canteen is always
So, come on in and sit for a while. There's alway plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS.
SALUTE!

Good morning, STAR!! Good morning, Canteen Crew ! Good morning, EVERYBODY!

Today's FEEBLE
YOKE :
A woman meets a gorgeous man in a bar. They talk, they connect, they end up leaving together. They get back to his place, and as he shows her around his apartment, she notices that his bedroom is completely packed with sweet cuddly teddy bears. Hundreds of cute small bears on a shelf all the way along the floor, cuddly medium-sized ones on a shelf a little higher, and huge enormous bears on the top shelf along the wall.
The woman is surprised that this guy would have a collection of teddy bears, especially one that's so extensive, but she decides not to mention this to him, and actually is quite impressed by his sensitive side. She turns to him... they kiss... and then they rip each other's clothes off and make hot steamy love.
After an intense night of passion with this sensitive guy, they are lying there together in the afterglow, the woman rolls over and asks, smiling, "Well, how was it?"
The guy says.. "Help yourself to any prize from the bottom shelf."

Nose art BUMP!
A-10
Makes me wish I'd saved the ideas I'd submitted for my unit for the BOMCOM one year. They were all rejected for being a bit too racy (I have the sketch for "Boeing's Beauty" somewhere, and it's "R" rated....the AF was a bit PC even in those days....). Ahhhhhhhhh, nose art....gotta love it!
Add the following site to your list of "nose art" links:
That website is worth a peek; George Rarey was a talented cartoonist and painted the cowling of his P-47, as well as those of several of his squadron mates:
Good Afternoon troops!! Good Afternoon everyone! Early dismissal in school today, with a huge possibility of a snowday tomorrow, as a snowstorm heads my way. Yes!! Here is today's humor attempt!
A musical director was having a lot of trouble with one drummer. He talked and talked and talked with the drummer, but his performance simply didn't improve.
Finally, before the whole orchestra, he said, "When a musician just can't handle his instrument and doesn't improve when given help, they take away the instrument, and give him two sticks, and make him a drummer."
A stage whisper was heard from the percussion section: "And if he can't handle even that, they take away one of his sticks and make him a conductor."
Happy Birthday!!
