I am a redhead of Scottish decent and I am not comfortable with the idea that a British scientist has attributed red hair to Neanderthals. It smacks of a slur, for some reason.
I agree, and I am also a redhead of scottish descent. Especially since the article says that the neanderthals apparently died out while in spain and southern france. Shouldn't there be a larger population a redheads in that region if so. The science in this article sound highly suspicious.
Don't be insulted. I too am a redhead of Scottish decent and I am proud to carry the genes of a human species, so far, vastly more successful than the so-called modern type. We neanderthals lasted 200,000 years or so.
Nawww...
I am a redhead of Irish decent and I think it's funny, and if true interesting. My IQ and education are sufficient enough to survive any perceived slur.
Redheads include Germans (most redhead population). I don't know too many Brits that spare a lot of love for Germans as well.
I have hope, though. The last time a European "race" was the target of tasteless jokes, that particular nation produced priests and a Pope that chases after the Heart of Jesus. They also defeated Communism without firing a shot. With these recent insults, my guess is that redheads are destined for greatness within a few years.

That is interesting. My wife is a redhead and I took it as a compliment as I was reading the article.
Why? Because Neanderthals had bigger brains.
Don't redheads have short tempers?
