So, the Pope says "Feed them" even if they are in worse shape than Terri Schiavo, who is not comatose or in a persistent vegetative state, or for that matter, not physically or mentally ill, either.

Since Terri is a Catholic, it seems like the courts are denying Terri's religious rights too.

Can you lead me to the link for the first part of your article? I was able to get to the 2nd part on the Life Issues Forum, but I can't find the part before that. I'd like to send a link to my family so that they can enjoy this well-written article, too! TY in advance!

I just went to http://www.terrisfight.org/, and they have the following message posted.

----------

On April 20, 2004, Attorney Deborah Bushnell (who represents Michael Schiavo) faxed a letter to Attorney Barbara Weller (who represents Bob and Mary Schindler, Terri's parents).

In that letter, Ms. Bushnell stated that Terri has had five teeth extracted.

Ms. Bushnell offered no reasonable explanation of why this was done, if Terri was appropriately anesthetized, what follow-up care is being prescribed nor if any restorative dental work was to be provided to her.

For years, in court, Terri's family has argued that Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo had not provided her proper dental care - among other things. Now, Terri has had five teeth removed.

As of this writing, it is unknown what, if anything, is being done to address this problem. Terri's parents are unable to get clear information regarding their daughter's condition.

It is important to note that many citizens of Florida had contacted the Department of Children and Families in March, 2004. In formal complaints, citizens informed the department that Terri had two teeth missing and a decubitus ulcer (bedsore). On April 1, 2004 the department investigated the allegations of abuse and, in formal responses dated April 6, 2004, they state that claims of neglect were "unsubstantiated".

----------

Is this news? Or is it just news to me? If it's news, please get out the ping lists.

But what are the odds the U.S. Cardinals and Bishops will honestly put the Pope's ruling into practice?

They don't seem to report to the Pope anymore.

They seem to report to no one but themselves.

Where IS this article by the way? It's not on the USCCB website you linked to.

If it used to be there and was removed, then it further proves my point that the USCCB is not afraid to mutiny against the Pope.
