Camille Caracappa, Eva Kadrey and their toddler, Nic, had created an idyllic life.

Eva and Nic would walk Camille to work, a nearby hospital where she was an oncology nurse. Eva and Nic would spend the day exploring Manhattan cafes and playgrounds or would head off for the New Jersey shore. Weekends meant get-togethers with Camille's large, close-knit family, or Camille and Nic would take off for their own special time of ice cream and swing-sets.

This mess is one of the ladies' own making

Yep. As a lawyer, I handled a number of messes for single, straight mothers. My advice to women then, as it is now, is get married. Marriage offers protections that living together does not. It is difficult for me to clean up your messes when you didn't do the one thing that would have avoided 90% of your messes in the first place.

For gay women, all of these arrangements can be made contractually. The child should have been adopted as soon as it was born. The 'happy couple' should have looked into SS to see whether it would pay out on the death or disability of either parent, or just the birth parent. If they wanted to assure that one parent could stay home if the other died, they should have bought a larger life insurance (term) policy.

This reminds me of the woman who was on O'Reilly crying because she didn't get money after her live-in boyfriend and father of their 2 kids was killed on 9/11. Get married! Or keep your legs closed. I don't care which you do, but don't come crying to me when sh!t happens, cause it will. (she was able to get money for the children)

ps - I lost my husband suddenly. I know what these people are going through and I don't say any of this to be uncaring. However, I also had a plan in place that allowed my son and I to make choices and not have choices made for us.

Why so afraid of the whole thing?

I have kids. You haven't grown into that part of Maslows Heiracy yet.

I'll take my double Ivy-league educated, Colonel's daughter six-figure making lawyer future wife any day of the week.

Or, in real life, you could be a waiter at a gay bar with a boyfriend. LOL.

Well, don't send your daughters to Smith, that's for sure.

Don't worry too much about it. If they're not gay, a little fooling around with their girlfriends won't turn your daughters into lesbians. Your sons are much less likely to even experiment- there is certainly no coolness associated with guys experimenting with other guys.

At most, they'd call themselves bi-curious. They see it as a fad, something they'll do for a few years, then probably settle down when they get married.

They're called LUGs, as in "Lesbian Until Graduation."

I'm not good looking enough to be gay. My understanding of hair care products is mostly rudimentary.

Anyway, I don't think too many gays (other than Log Cabin Republicans) hang out on this website.

Asian boys are apparently what's in vogue at my daughter's high school. But we live in flyover country so the trend may just not yet be here.

Go figure. Asian girls have always been pretty popular with white guys, but I can't remember Asian guys ever being considered particularly cool.

That's just plain sick!
"Raise your children up in the way they should go, so when they grow old they will not depart from it."

I've already taught them homosexuality is an abonination - a mental disease. They come up with better queer jokes than I do!
Anyone who engages in this type of behavior, in my opinion, is a skank.

Log cabin Republicans are like virgin NOW hags. It's an oxymoron. They're here to destroy the moral authority - like they did in some churches.

Forbidden fruit is always the sweetest. Keep that in mind the next time you empathically tell your kids that something is evil. Kids are always seeking to rebel against their parents.

Anyway, if your daughters do engage in this behavior, it's doubtful that you'll ever know. Especially when they go off to college,

They're mostly libertarians. Keeping the state out of bedrooms strikes me as a pretty conservative idea.

Not really- a gay person can be Catholic in good standing so long as they don't engage in homosexual sex.

If you lust in your heart, you have sinned. To lust in such a way to be contrary to the Catholic doctrine means you are in violation of Catholic Law and thus, not a Catholic. (there is a reason the end of Confession is "go and sin more" -- you are supposed to extinguish the evil from your thoughts and soul.)

This statement is the same as saying "if you are a pedophile and you don't molest children you are a Catholic in good standing." Yes, you won't get thrown out of the Church because the Church can only react to your actions, but you are doctinally NOT a Catholic.

"Thou shall honor thy mother and father." I taught them that, too.
My kids aren't the loose skank types. That's not the way they've been raised.
I've told them all about what the losers engage in, as well as the various diseases they carry. They know all about it, and why it's discustiing. They wouldn't eat of the rotten fruit placed before them.

(I let my daughter read your post. LOL. She said "Eww!")

Hmmm... but through confession and penance, you are forgiven for your sins. We all lust in our hearts, but all we can do is try our best to sin no more. Following your line of reasoning, there is nothing a homosexual could do to become a member in good standing of the Catholic church. I don't believe that anyone is automatically excluded from salvation.

Not really- I'm engaged to one of those girls.

We shall see. I have a different definition of love than I think most do. It has seen me through nearly 22 years of marriage. If you are engaged to one of those girls, it is likely that you do not truly love one another. But you may learn. I could also be wrong.

Shalom.
