My name is April Popaditch, wife of Gysgt Nick Popaditch (ret) AKA Cee-gar Marine to FreeRepublic. This web site was such a source of strength to my family and I when my husband was wounded in Fallujah, Iraq April 2004. The beauty of the words and prayers that we read on a daily basis from all of you, will stay in our hearts forever. Military life is a sacrifice but one you never regret. Support from people you've never met, is life affirming and gives us the strength to carry on our new missions in life.
I hear on the news programs people asking, where are all the good military stories? I am proud to say that Nick and I have one to share. Our Generals, Congressmen and people who have never known anyone in uniform have embraced "Once A Marine". I am not too savy on how to cut and paste the book's site into this post, but I here is the website www.onceamarine.com. I hope you get a chance to read it, Nick felt strange at first doing a book until he realized that he was telling a story about more than just himself. We have been in a world with Heroes all around us, in and out uniform. I hope this book will make you all proud. Thank you again for all your support!
Oooorah!
Semper Fi.
Will look for it.

I'm going to send your info to Mike Rosen and Bob Newman at 850 KOA in Denver and hopefully you'll be hearing from their producers in the near future to appear on their respective shows.

April and Nick -- thank you both, for your service, your concerns for others both within and without the Corps, and for telling US just what it means to embrace Duty, Honour, Country the way you both do.
Mike Steere (your co-writer) had this statement at the end of his Collaborators Note: Working with Gunny Pop --
Pity there aren't more mortals like you. Thank you both.
God Bless you both. Happy days are coming.
I signed up for a copy. Can’t wait.
Thanks for the pings
I’ll check it out tomorrow.
Semper Fi,
Kelly
Nick and April, thanks so much for everything... I watched with other FR folks for days as our troops rumbled across the desert and entered Baghdad...and of course fell in love with you Nick. I kept tabs on you via the internet and am pleased to see you are well and there is a book...which I will be reading soon. I’ll also get a copy for my 20 year old son who is now a US Army Tanker currently located somewhere near Sadr...
Go well...
May God bless you both.
Heads up here folks.
