Re: Technical innovation
I know what Iris is saying, but I think even the advancement of grounded concepts is still "new." If you even can do anything in half the time, it's a marvel at ingenuity and innovation of the tech that brought you there. In aviation when talking about metal skins, look at the advancement fiberglass and composite skins. How many painstaking man hours it cost to create those planes featured on this thread, when today we MASS produce thousands of planes much more advanced.
As for China and the stealing of Western aviation technology for warplanes, dubious quality control in exported parts, and out sourcing out manufacturing capacity (our knowledges goes too) we should be very concerned.

Four 20 mm cannon or 4 machine guns mounted in the nose. The F.II night-fighter version and the FB.VI Fighter-bomber version had that armament, the B.IV version was an unarmed bomber. The fighter-bomber version was really a great low level bomber

Nowadays we have bureaucrats and other ruler wannabees, a horde of officious fools insisting everyone obey them since they are the fountain of all wisdom and holiness, eating out our substance, destroying our future. Amen!

I remember when "Made in Japan" was a joke, sooner or later "Made in China" won't be a joke anymore either.

Evening CT.
Snippy and I have been loaded down with work too so we've been sorta scarce.
Roller Coaster is a good way to describe Tuesday. But I love the way America gave the one finger salute to Hollywood and Europe. :-)
