Before the video was released, Officer Slagers attorney claimed that he felt threatened by Scott when he let off the shots. I have given cops the benefit of the doubt and trusted that justice would out in the end. Now, I am wondering if, absent the video, he may have gotten away with it. It's an unsettling feeling.

The problem now is that since there was no conclusive video from Ferguson, people are going to think that it was covered up, and this cop is only going down because it was caught on video and the Police can wriggle out of this one.

The discrepancies between the version of events provided by the officer (and, presumably, the officers who showed up on the scene right after the shooting) and what is shown in the video makes me wonder about what has happened in previous cases that were not caught on video....

Pretty simple solution.
Don't grab the officer's taser/gun/baton. Don't fight with the officer. Don't run from the scene.

Now, I am wondering if, absent the video, he may have gotten away with it. It's an unsettling feeling. Good people tend to believe cops absent any extraordinary evidence.
Even when the other person is proved innocent they tend to think they must have done something incorrect or the police would not have gone after them.
Maybe there was a time when that was true.
