Ron Paul Set to Honor Tea Party
KCRG TV NEWS ^ | 14 DECEMBER 2007 | KCRG.COM

Once again honoring the revolutions of history, Texas Congressman Ron Paul will commemorate the Boston Tea Party Sunday, with his campaign attempting to set another one day fund raising record and beat out the $4.4 million he collected from supporters last month on November 5th, Guy Fawkes Day.

The campaign's new blimp also took to the air Friday, leaving North Carolina on its maiden voyage up the east coast.

The blimp was originally scheduled to drop tea into Boston the harbor on Sunday, but a launch delay forced organizers to reschedule the flight plan for a New Hampshire primary appearance on January 8th.

Despite a low standing in national polls, Paul’s extensive grassroots campaign may yet give credence to the fact that early polls are merely snapshots of the race.

Given Paul’s media attention and die hard supporters, there is little doubt Sunday’s event will eclipse November's record.

But can Paul bring in enough Republicans for a bid at the nomination?

Current support has leaned heavily on former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who recently took has a commanding lead in Iowa, and as a former Baptist minister, has proven adept at courting the parties evangelicals.

But for Paul and others, Iowa will not be the end all.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is high in the national polls, but not in Iowa where he has never planned on securing a victory. His big ticket rides on the larger states and later primaries.

Paul has seen stronger media attention lately and with his commitments to a completely new monetary policy and immediate withdrawal from Iraq, the real contest will come down to whether people believe Paul, or candidates like Giuliani when it comes to foreign policy and fiscal management.

Don’t you DARE compare Al Bundy to Ron Paul! Bundy would not only eliminate the beer tax, he would be no p*ssy when it comes to kicking enemy ass, in the middle east or at the nudie bar.

Oh, and the RP people are morons for using a rastered image for this when the same thing can be done perfectly scalable as something vectored and not be so obnoxious. Dumb candidate. Dumb supporters.

Are you kidding me?

No, I'm serious. How much farther down that road do you think we'll go before people start thinking twice about letting their kids on the site?

Given the discussion of so many things that are controversial, I wouldn’t think many a parent let kids on here now. It is parental responsibility to decide what their children learn and are exposed to. Be it an atheist parent or homosexual couple that adopted or a honest to goodness conservative.

How is this different than a evangelicals child asking about the don’t ask don’t tell policy.

Your argument holds no weight.

What say we ask an evangelical if they'd rather have to explain "don't ask, don't tell" or "tea bagging" to their child, and see.

Ron Paul is a putz.

Thousands of grassroots supporters & millions of dollars raised says otherwise.

>>>Ron Paul is a putz.

Sean Penn has hundreds of millions of fans and scores of millions of dollars. He's still a putz.

Penn and his pal Kucinich don't have people donating money & supporting them either.

So it's simply your opinion, which is irrelevant to Paul's supporters.

Penn and his pal Kucinich don't have people donating money & supporting them either.

Per the FEC, Kucinich has drawn about $2.2 million in donations. Paul has drawn about $8.3 million. On the scale of a presidential campaign, with Hilary at $90 million, Obama at $80 million, Romney at $62 million, and Rudy at $45 million, all that means is that Paul is marginally less marginal than Kucinich. Both are polling in the low single digits. Paul has built his campaign on stunts to get big single-day donor numbers that exceed what the major candidates get every day.

Sean Penn has gotten no campaign contributions, for the simple reason that he isn't running for office. Which does not change the fact that he has a lot of money nor the fact that he is a putz.

On your original point that Dr. Paul has "thousands" of supporters, that's setting the bar so low that an Olsen twin couldn't limbo under it. Mickey Mouse gets thousands of votes.

So it's simply your opinion, which is irrelevant to Paul's supporters.

So tack my opinion on as item #12,843 on the list of things irrelevant to Ron Paul supporters.
