Ron Paul's presidential campaign is getting cash infusion today from grass roots activists on the internet. The activists plan to get 100,000 people to donate $100 each, boosting the campaign by 10 million dollars in a day.
Whether the goal of 10 million dollars in a day is achieved remains to be seen. The campaign as of 10 PM Sunday night had risen just under 2.8 million for the quarter.
As of Monday, 9:30 AM Eastern time, Pauls campaign has risen over a million dollars bringing the total to over 4.1 million for the quarter.
Pauls campaign raised over 5 million in the third quarter and had over 5 million cash on hand at the start of this quarter.
The one day fund raising push is already a success and it hasnt shown any signs of losing momentum. Pauls campaign had nothing to do with the grass roots effort which makes it even more impressive.
Ron Paul voted against the Iraq war and says he will bring the troops home immediately. Paul seeks to eliminate federal income taxes and wants to reform the monetary system by authorizing competing currencies backed by gold and silver.
Paul also voted against the Patriot Act and has been an outspoken defender of the Bill of Rights.
And, the day is not over yet!
Ready with all those negative comments, all you Paul bashers?
(Designer helping them out) "Not viable", "not a real Republican", "NY Times poll says Rudy is on top", CNN poll says Rudy McRomney is the leader", USA Toady(sic) poll says "Paul won't be the nominee"
Don't forget that no "real" Republican candidate is ever supported by folks logging on over the internet.
"Probably just some phony spamming by those 16-year-old pot-heads in their parent's basement."
You have to appreciate a candidate that lets the world see what cash he has on hand each and every day.
Over 2 million isn’t bad from a bunch of 16 year old pot heads using there moms credit card.
Would be refreshing to have someone who is as open as RP is about his fund raising in the WH.
Looking forward to the little media coverage on RP’s results today. Love him to pass up Kerry’s day as George posted earlier.
You mean if he held off and wrote checks to his own campaign on one day?
Romney is Romney's biggest contributor.
I sent $50.00. Bought a bumper sticker and a hat too.
In 20 years I’ve only had one other bumper sticker - Jessica’s Law. Since I’m moving to a State that has a form of Jessica’s Law, I can now retire it and put on the PAUL.
Love the fact that Ron is hated by GOP Leadership. Telling.
Ron Paul cured your apathy?
He never accepted Medicaid and Medicare as a doctor and didn’t accept gov loans to put his kids through medical school and has refused his congressional pension. Disagree with him if you will but he certainly isn’t it this for the dough. He lives the life of individual freedom and responsibility.
never been apathetic. Just hate seeing the Republican party morph into a liberal party. We now have 2 Democrat Parties; the Dem Party and Republican Lite.
We either take back the GOP by flushing out the garbage, or we create a new Conservative Party. So if Paul decides to run 3rd Party, I hope he doesn’t choose the Libertarian Party. Come up with something else.
Agree on the One Party System. Hillary and Rudy are the same, just different hair stylist.
If RP ran as a third party candidate, it would be my first time not voting for a republican. I could live with that.
Impressive numbers — congrats to Paul and his supporters.
I did my part today.
The contributions near $5-1/2 million at 350pm ET.
The numbers keep spinning.
here’s the thing rineaux (is that like RINO), I’m not sure if Paul will make a good President. I think he might. I like his ideas on the 2nd Amendment and securing the border.
But as I stated above, although I’m not sure on Paul, I am 100% sure that Rudy, Mitt, Huck and McCain are lousy, terrible choices. They are a typical vote for the lesser of two evils which I’m sick of. At least I think Paul is a straight shooter.
Hunter looks good but nobody has heard of him outside of Free Republic.
Whew! It would be very cool for Paul to break Monsieur Kerry’s record. :)
Doesn't sound very "leftist" to me... seems to me to place the burden on "INDIVIDUAL" responsability ...
Won't do anything in the primaries, but it makes the anti-war dope smokers feel like they actually matter.
A celebration in his name? LOL. Well, I guess you could say that.
Yes, like Rhino.
I agree with you again. Paul has a couple of issues, otherwise I think he is the best of our choices.
It was George, EEE, Opie and a few others that made me look at Paul while others were just trying to torch Paul and his views. He seems solid in a lot of areas. As far as Hunter, seems somewhat the same as RP with the exception of the WOT and Iraq. Too bad. Just can’t believe Rudy is polling so well. As far as I’m concerned, if he could beat Hillary, he would have run against her for the senate seat. Maybe a deal was cut in the parlor room to let her have it. Why else would the GOP of NY put in a virtual no body (Rick Lazio) to run against her.
OOPS!! That was the Speech from the Novel -—

The Movie Version is:
Good evening, London.
Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone’s death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.
There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way.
Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there?
Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen?
Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be?
War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten.
More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you’ve seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.
“People shouldn’t be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.”
