What in the HELL are you talking about?<

I am talking about Hell, that’s what. When I was younger and before I know the Lord I was caught up in that heavy metal craze of the 1980’s. There were album covers that pictured hell as some wild party with a fiery back drop where Satan was the master of hosts. Hell was a fascination with that crowd. I can’t say that I was fascinated by the place but I know that there were many songs about it. The devil and hell was the topic of so many songs back then they would cheapen the reality of hell as well as make Satan out to be more harmless. But it wasn’t only the music industry that was diminishing the reality of Hell. Hollywood put out many movies where people would come back from hell or they would go there and hell wasn’t really all that bad. Sometimes it was torment but not to the extremes of reality. Novels that dwell in the subject as well only touch on the reality of hell. Even childhood cartoons where a little devil will pop up on a shoulder and get them to sin diminished the reality. You see they make out the devil to be a little mischief maker.

How many people committed suicide believing hell would be better than their problems here on earth? That is the whole point behind the music, movies, novels and cartoons. It is to convince those who commit suicide that life in hell can’t be so bad after all. Or perhaps they don’t make the decision for the Lord because they have been conditioned into thinking that hell is a joke.

Let me tell you Hell is no party and Satan is not some little prankster or some overlord in hell. But I will tell you this Hell is very real, and Satan is very deadly. If those Heavy metal musicians knew the truth they would not be so happy to sing about it and if those Hollywood producers would use the real hell and the real Satan in one of their films the movie would be so frightening you would scream in fear as you ran out of the movie theater. Hell is a horrible place and Satan is the father of lies and he is a murderer and evil to the core.

So what I am going to talk about in this essay is Hell, and Satan. To tell you that are both as real as you and me and hopefully those who read this and do not know the Lord will want to and will accept him as their Lord and savior.

So what is Hell, Well most of us think of a fiery underworld and that is true. It is fiery for sure but do you know how much. Hell is described as a lake of fire. REVELATION 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. What kind of fire was this “ISAIAH 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”, everlasting and devouring. Not at all pleasant or inviting is it? MATTHEW 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. There is a picture for you. MARK 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. This fire will burn you and it will not let up nor will it ever go out.

Well some might say at least I will be with all my friends down there. Sorry to inform you but you will not see anyone. On top of the burning pain you will feel you will be in complete darkness. MATTHEW 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. You will not see anyone. You will be in darkness in pain beyond what I could ever imagine.

It is a place of torment, a place of no rest were they feel the wrath of GOD. REVELATION 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Are you getting the picture now? Hell is no place you would want to go.

It is a place of sorrows PSALMS 18:5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. It is a place of weeping. MATTHEW 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is a place of wailing. MATTHEW 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. A horrible tempest the bibles says. PSALMS 11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: [this shall be] the portion of their cup.

I have tried to give a picture of what hell is like from the scriptures I pointed out here. Think about it for two reasons one for those who read this and is not saved; to you I say what if every thing the bible says about hell is true, then what. What if you will die tomorrow where will you be. Think about this if everything I told you about hell is true do you want to go there? Just pause and think about that for a moment. Second point is to the saved people reading this, Do you want anyone else to go there; your co-workers, you family, your friends? Just inviting someone to church is not enough. Church will not save them no matter how good a church it is. The best chance they’ve got is you. Only Jesus will save them. JOHN 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. The only way to heaven is though Jesus. He is the only way. Not Buddha, Krishna, Mohammad, Baha’u’llah or any one else. Not the Jesus of the Book of Mormon, not the Jesus on the statue in some gothic church. Not some long hair white guy, but the one in the bible. The very man who was GOD in the flesh. JOHN 10:30 I and [my] Father are one. The very Jesus who created it all. JOHN 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. The word is Jesus and he has the power to save us because he is GOD and only GOD has the power over life and death. JOHN 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. You see GOD became a man and dwelled among us and he died on the cross for us he bore our sins. At the end of this essay I will explain how you can get this free gift.

Now what about Satan? He is not a Joker. He is like a lion. I PETER 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: He will do anything to keep you from Jesus. He is crafty He uses religious things to fool people MATTHEW 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. The devil is like a snake and he will twist GOD’s word to get you to follow him. GENESIS 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. The Devil is very clever and make no mistake he hates you because GOD created you and he wants to destroy you. You see the devil tricked Adam and Eve in the garden and he is trying to trick you. He will trick you into hell if you let him but Jesus made it clear in his word that you do not have to go to hell.

Satan is not the overlord of Hell he will be one of it’s inmates someday soon. REVELATION 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. The devil walks the earth with all his angels. The Devil is not omni-present, he can only be at one place at a time. His angels, what we call demons, also walk around. Satan’s fate is sealed but yours is not until the day you die. You have a chance to escape hell, Satan doesn’t and he is mad so he wants to take as many of God’s creation with him.

Just like the Devil twisted GOD’s meaning when he tricked Eve so too has God tricked thousands into a homosexual lifestyle that will end them up in hell. I have heard these prophets of Satan preach that GOD is love and he made them gay and lesbian, and that GOD is not concerned with there sexual orientation. But that is a lie. GOD says in LEVITICUS 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination. You see homosexuality is sin and if you do not repent of sin you will die. LUKE 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. I am told that I commit hate speech with my writing, but that is not true. I have told you what the bible says hell is like. It would not be loving to be tolerant of homosexuals and not tell them that they are going to go to such a horrible place. No sir I do not hate homosexuals. I do my best to warn them and to prevent them from going to hell, and if that is hate to you, then you are a fool. PROVERBS 12:15 The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel [is] wise.

The same goes for the drunkard. I CORINTHIANS 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. Do you see drunkard listed here among those sins. That is because it is sin. The lie of the devil is that it is alcoholism and it is a disease. Well it is not a disease, it is sin and sin leads to bondage and addiction is bondage. LUKE 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares. Tell that drunk that they will burn in hell if they do not repent. The same is true for drug addicts.

You see people live in bondage of sin and believe that everything is okay. They do not care about the things of GOD or eternal security but they better think about it hard. PROVERBS 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.

Here is the bottom line for the unrepentant sinner. Think hard about hell for it is something to fear. Hell is GOD’s Wrath. As I pointed out before in “Revelations 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” We see that GOD is present. God is the source of the fire. HEBREWS 12:29 For our God [is] a consuming fire.

How do we escape GOD’s wrath. By repentance. MATTHEW 9:13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. We are all sinners ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; everyone of us deserves hell. ROMANS 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. You see Jesus is the way to eternal life where you do not have to suffer. You see your choices are black and white to the extreme, You will either suffer in hell the horrible place forever or you will dwell with the Lord. I TIMOTHY 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; it is through Jesus.

What does repent mean? It is a conscious effort to turn away from sin and toward GOD and sorrow about the things we have done. We can pray for forgiveness in our own words to Jesus, say we are sorry about the sin we have committed. There is nothing we can do to earn it. ROMANS 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. So there it is. Hate is to tell someone that everything is okay and to be tolerant. Remember you can’t get to heaven by being good. GALATIANS 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
