My Mom volunteers at monastic shrine in New Jersey called the Rosary Shrine of Summit. Nuns there lead a monastic life in prayer in contemplation. A Jewish man from New Jersey had a little daughter (about six or seven, I think) and she was dying of cancer.
This man went into the shrine and prostrated himself in front of the altar, praying fervrently that God heal his daughter. At the time she was waiting in the car for yet another biopsy. After he finished praying, he drove her to the hospital where the doctors could not find a trace of cancer. Miraculously it was gone.

The Dominican Nuns of Summit, New Jersey are a Roman Catholic cloistered monastic community. Our primary mission is to pray for the salvation of souls, and to support the preaching mission of the Dominican friars. We follow the Rule of St. Augustine in "oneness of mind and heart" while leading a hidden life of Eucharistic prayer, adoration, thanksgiving, and intercession which proclaims Jesus Christ to the world.
