I am Authorized Version only.

What is not the same cannot be the same. Simple logic tells me that anything that is different cannot be the same. If the A.V. differs from the R.S.V. or N.I.V. then they cannot be the same. So if one of the versions is correct we must assume the others are not. Since we know that GOD’s word is perfect and protected then we have to know that there is a version in English, so how do we decide on one. In this essay I will show why I believe that the Authorized version is the correct version. Notice I have not used the definition of King James version. When it is certain that is what it is called. I believe that the label King James is only a nickname and that it is better called by it’s original label and that is The Authorized Version. King James did not write this version God wrote it and they are GOD’s words. Is the Bible the word of GOD? The bible is the word of GOD. Romans 10:17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Our faith comes from hearing the word of GOD. 2 Timothy 3:15. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. It is through the word of GOD that we learn about salvation. So the answer is yes the bible is the word of GOD. How was it written if it was just written by men? The bible is made up of 68 books or letters and are divided into two testaments. It was written over a period of 1,600 years by 40 men most of whom did not know each other. The old testament was written in Hebrew while the new testament was written in Greek. The Holy spirit moved the writers so that all men would complete the word of GOD. 2 Peter 1:21. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. GOD’s word is timeless. It is for us today as much as it was for those back then. Psalms 119:160. Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Do we have all the Bible today, or was some of it lost over the years? All the Bible is as important today as it ever was. 2 Timothy 3:16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:. The Bible is perfect now and forever Matthew 24:35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. What man speaks is of man but the bible is spoken by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. The Bible is for today and none of it was lost over the years GOD preserved his word. Can GOD’s word be preserved in different versions? Yes is it is possible but in English this is not so. In German they have 2 bible versions that are both true to the original text, but in English there is only one. Every version of the bible in English contradicts the others. So there is one simple fact we cannot ignore, what contradicts cannot be the same or shall I say what is different cannot be the same. But we know that GOD said his word would be preserved. Psalms 12:6. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. So if the Bible tells us GOD’s word is preserved the if ever version is in contrast to one and other then there is only one conclusion we have to draw, that is that only one of the versions is correct. The correct version is the Authorized Version. The Authorized Version because it is superior to all the rest, as I will explain further as I go along. GOD did not write several bibles, he wrote only one. Did the Authorized Version come from the same Greek and Hebrew text as the other versions? No! the Authorized Version did not use the same Greek text. It in fact they used a superior text. As we know in English they have several version and perversions of the Bible and the same is true for the Greek. Remember one thing and make it very clear You do not have to know Greek to understand GOD’s word completely. The Authorized Version gets it’s new testament from translating the Textus Receptus and the Authorized Version is the only version that uses that text exclusively. The old testament was written in Hebrew. It was Translated from the Masoretic text, there are other inferior Hebrew texts including the one modern day Rabbi’s use. The Authorized Version is the only Bible the uses these two texts only. Any Bible that is not translated from the Textus Receptus is a polluted stream. The stream that our authorized version runs from is pure and drinkable. But the other versions that did not use the Textus Receptus are polluted and will not satisfy the thirst. John 4:13. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:. Aren’t modern scholars better able to come up with a better version? You might think that but the answer is no. The Authorized Version had superior translators than any modern or any other version hands down. Dr. Lancelot Andrews mastered fifteen languages there was no other translator or paraphraser who has ever mastered fifteen languages. I have never m3et anyone who has mastered 15 languages have you. Dr. William Bedwell was an expert in Arabic studies. He had translated a the book of John in Arabic. He also wrote an Arabic Dictionary and began one in Persian. Do you know any bible scholars that can do that today. Dr. Miles Smith was and expert in Hebrew, Chaldee, Syriac and in Arabic. Sir Henry Savile was proficient in both Greek and mathematics. He even tutored Queen Elizabeth. He was the first to edit the complete works of Chrysostom a famous Greek father. Jon Bois and expert in Greek and Hebrew. At age five he read the entire bible in Hebrew. At age six he was able to write Hebrew in an clear and elegant style. If you have ever seen Hebrew letters you would know that it would be very difficult to write it elegantly at any age. The Translators are far superior to the translators of today these guys were not distracted from the word of sports, politics, all sort of entertainment know the studied and lived there studies there are very few if any bible scholars with that type of devotion. None I repent none of the scholars today have such impressive credentials. Why do you call it “Authorized Version” instead of “King James”? Well they are the same thing but King James did not write it. He commissioned the work but it is GOD’s word. To be GOD’S word is my final Authority so it is only fitting to call the Bible I use the Authorized version. I do on occasion call it King James out of Habit but I am trying to use the term Authorized version. That is a more fitting name for the Bible that is the correct version in English. Whether you call it King James or Authorized Version it is no matter. Just like some will call a dog a hound and some one else will call it a canine. Don’t they just use different wording. No, and not only that but the other versions have omitted words from the bible. Luke 4:4. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. The phrase underlined is omitted in the RSV, NIV, NEB, NAS and most other versions. Now there are many examples of this where important parts of a verse was omitted, too many for me to note here. Can you see how that omission changes the whole meaning of what Jesus is saying there.. Revelations 16:17. And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. The word heaven was omitted from the same versions. There is a warning in the book of revelations about changing that book. Revelations 22:19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Well that is pretty clear to me. There are many changes to the bible in the other texts, many omissions and not all uniform, some leave some things out where others don’t sometimes they use different words and change the meaning. Yes there are additions made as well. The NIV had a homosexual on the staff and she changed the meaning of several verses concerning homosexuality. Do you need to understand Greek and Hebrew to better understand the Bible. No!, you can best understand GOD’s word in your own tongue. GOD did not intend us to know Greek and Hebrew in order to understand his word. GOD’s word preserved in English is the Authorized Version. Romans 2:11. For there is no respect of persons with God. You see the little old lady with a 3rd grade education is going to get as much insight of the scripture a man with a Theology doctorate from Northern Mississippi Baptist collage and exclusive study in Greek and Hebrew. It is the Holy Spirit that guides you though the scriptures. If you need an alphabet degree in order to best understand the bible then I would have to wonder if you are truly saved. All you will really ever learn is that in Greek they use a word that is Greek instead of the English word of the same meaning. Isn’t the Authorized Version too hard to understand, compared to modern versions All modern version are written at a collegiate level. The King James was written in an upper grade school to Jr. Middle school level. To put it simply the A.V. was written so the common man can understand. It is really not that hard to understand believe me. If you read it carefully you will not get tripped up on the proper English used. Just look at the way the word is used and if there is a word you do not understand then look it up in a dictionary for heavens sakes. Is the New King James version just the Authorized Version with easier understandable words. No, but the publisher would like you to think that. The NKJV was advertised as the fifth reversion of the A.V. But that is far from the truth, the truth is that it is a completely new version of the bible put out by a money making publisher called Thomas Nelson with a copyright. Nine of the scholars used to produce the NIV, or what I like to call the HIV, worked on the NKJV. In order to get a copyright you have to make vast changes to the original so they had to not only take out old English words and replace them with modern words but to make drastic changes in the meaning of whole important verses. The Word heaven is missing 48 out of 550 times. They think you will hardly notice. The word hell is omitted 22 out of 54 times. The word blood is missing 18 out of 375 and you know how important the blood is to the theme of the bible. What about repent that is so very important to salvation but it is deleted 11 times out of 43. The word damnation is ejected all 11 times. Where Jesus is called master they replaced the word teacher. In Matthew 18:26 they replaced the word lord with the word sir. In Mark 2:15 the name Jesus is omitted from the verse. I could go on and on but these are just a few of the vast changes made to GOD’s word just to get an other perversion into your hands. The NKJV had a pro-Gay bias just like many of the other perversions. The word Sodomites were replaced with perverted ones, just as the Homosexuals who worked on the HIV used the phrase Shrine prostitutes. They just don’t want to admit that their sin is sin. So the Queers are involved in our religious intuitions to try to alter the truth and in the modern versions we should know that there are sodomites working to help translate. The NKJV also has a pro-Catholic stance as well. James 5:16 they replace the word Faults with the word Trespasses, that is wrong. We are to confess our faults to one and other , but trespasses are sins that should be confessed to GOD alone. You see here the NKJV favors the Roman Catholic confessional. There is no doubt that this version is demonic and should be burned. But in my case I would like to shoot it first then burn it. I could do this to all the versions to dismantle them and show you how corrupted they are, but I don’t want to take up to much time and space. How did we get the A.V. or KJV Well God spoke and Holy men wrote what GOD had spoken. The most knowledgeable team of translators ever assembled, all of them Godly men of the same like faith, used the texts closest to the autographed version. None of them were fornicators or sodomites like the modern versions. There were several early protestant reformation bibles, forerunners the AV until the first AV or KJV bible was produced in 1611. There have been updates where the spelling of words changed and some changes were made, yet the meaning has not changed from the 1611, regardless of what the promoters of the perversion say. Conclusion In writing this I found that there is so much to say, but I think I said enough to make my case for the Authorized version. You can call it King James or Authorized but what ever you call it used it. The AV put out good fruit, because it was translated by Godly men that used the autographed texts, and unmatched techniques. Every Vital Doctrine is preserved. The Deity of Christ and the virgin birth as well as the redemption by blood of the lamb. The modern versions puts out evil fruit. They used corrupted translators and techniques. They used corrupt text that were far from the autograph. They inserted evil like liberalism, Romanism, ecumenism, rationalism evolutionism, homosexualism, feminism and other demonic influences. The modern versions attack every vital doctrine. Matthew 7:17. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Notice I have not used the definition of King James version. When it is certain that is what it is called.

Isn’t the Authorized Version too hard to understand, compared to modern versions

All modern version are written at a collegiate level.

How did we get the A.V. or KJV

Well God spoke and Holy men wrote what GOD had spoken.

Conclusion

In writing this I found that there is so much to say, but I think I said enough to make my case for the Authorized version.

Please read the above article. It brings some balance to this discussion which is missing in the original article.

Since King James wasn't God, calling it the Authorised Version only means that King James endorsed it. King James did nothing to make it the final authority.

Are you arguing for a perfect translation like some of your comrades? I hope not.

I do not respect the "perfect translation" hypothesis because:

[1] It is without ANY biblical support.
[2] It is a ludicrous concept to anyone even vaguely familiar with the process of translation.
[3] It belittles the original manuscripts and efforts to understand them.
[4] It is an arrogant, dogmatic position which is divisive to the body of Christ.

The first Bible I actually studied from was the New Living Translation, but have since found the king James to be by far superior to the other bible translations.

That being said:

"And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
- Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)

I believe that God has the power to work through any Bible if one is searching with all their heart. When I was reading my New Living Translation, I thought it was a wonderful translation, and it did work on my heart, but I was seeking Him. God Kept his promise.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"
-2 Timothy, 2:15 (KJV)

My personal recommendation is that if you do decide to use a bible other than the King James, have one handy to refer back to if something seems unclear in your chosen Bible. Where other Bible translations may seem unclear somewhat queationable. Our modern day vacabulary sometimes lends itself to allowing one to read things in different ways. It has been my experience that when I read the same thing in the King James, there is little doubt as to what it means.

I can live with this -- I have no problem with the KJV. It's a very good translation -- one of the best. My problem is with those who say it is the only one, or the standard by which others are judged. I myself refer to it rather frequently.

" Since we know that GOD?s word is perfect and protected then we have to know that there is a version in English"

Stop!!! Logic Alert!!!: Based on the above i.e. that there is a perfect version and it is in English, it logically follows that only the first version could possibly meet that test. For if the first version were not perfect there would, at that time, have been only be a false version in English.

First, paragraphs are your friend.

Second, the one true authorized version is called Torah. Get used to it, and learn Hebrew if you want to know exactly what it says.

Reasons for proper formatting:

-Easier to read.

-Shows you took time to prepare your argument before presenting it.

-Easier to read.

-Let's the reader know that you would really like him to read it.

Absolutely.

Question 1. Are you making the claim that the KJV translators were given extra wisdom AND specifically inspired in their actions and given extra wisdom in this regard?

Question 2. Since not only was 60 percent of the KJV a direct lift from the Tyndale Bible, but also that an number of other translations and partial translations had been done prior to the KJV (do a search on the terms 'Tyndale Bible' and 'Bishops Bible' for starters), then is it not more correct for one to use the Tyndale translation than one that was obviously not only done so much later, but also just as obviously was derivative?

Question 3. Given that question 1. is true, and given that the translators were all *Anglicans* [ahem Lancelot Andrewes was an Anglican Bishop - see http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bio/252.html ] , then does it not behoove anyone who actually believes that their translation was entirely superior to any other must acknowledge that wisdom by giving up the heresies of anabaptist theology and becoming Anglican?
:-)

Hint: unless one is using the 1662 edition of the Book of Common Prayer, it's best not to try to pull 'KJV only' arguments on Anglicans.
